Assam B.Tech Admissions 2024 - The result of Assam CEE 2024 has been released on June 19, 2024. Based on the exam scores, counselling for Assam B.Tech admissions 2024 for enrolling in Assam government engineering colleges is being conducted. The Assam CEE 1st and 2nd round admission process has been done and the third round is being conducted to fill up the remaining seats. Entrance Exams Accepted by Assam Engineering Colleges 2024

Assam CEE 2024 (Combined Entrance Examination) is an entrance test conducted by DTE Assam for B.Tech admission in government engineering colleges. Assam CEE is a score mandatory for B.Tech admission in state-run government engineering colleges. Some of the top private engineering colleges in Assam also accept Assam CEE scores for B.Tech admissions. However, private engineering colleges do not participate in the counselling process of DTE Assam.

JEE Main 2024 score is also accepted in Assam for B.Tech admission in private engineering colleges. Students can also seek B. Tech admission in Assam through Class 12 merit.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Admission in Assam 2024

The eligibility criteria for B.Tech admission in government engineering colleges of Assam through Assam CEE are as follows –

Assam B.Tech admissions 2024 in government engineering colleges across Assam are bound to the reservation policies of the state government. The reservation policy for B.Tech admission in Assam for reserved categories is as follows –

Assam B Tech Admission Procedure 2024

DTE Assam conducts the counselling process for Assam B.Tech admissions 2024 across the government engineering colleges. The admission procedure for B Tech courses in Assam is based on the rank scored by the candidates in Assam CEE. All the candidates who have a valid rank in Assam CEE can take part in the admission process. Candidates with a valid Assam CEE rank must fill out a separate application form for Assam B.Tech admission in government engineering colleges.

Assam B Tech Admission Application Form 2024

Before taking part in the Assam B.Tech counselling process for government engineering colleges, the candidates with a valid Assam CEE rank must fill out the application form for the counselling process. The candidates must download the application form from the official website of DTE Assam/ Assam CEE and take the printout of the same on A4 size paper. The application form is divided into three parts –

1. Form A – Application Form

2. Form B – Institution Preference Form

3. Form C – Admission Record Sheet

It is the responsibility of the candidates to fill out all the above three forms to take part in the Assam B.Tech counselling process for government engineering colleges. The guidelines to fill out each form can be checked below –

Guidelines to Fill ‘Form A – Application Form’

The candidates must fill in the following details in Form A –

• Name of the Candidate

• Father’s Name

• Parent’s Occupation

• Annual Income of Parents

• Address for Communication

• Details of Exams Passed

• Marks Scored in Class 12 (to be entered in the form of a percentage)

• Declaration by Student

• Declaration by Parent

After filling in the above details, the candidates must affix/ paste the passport-size photograph in the prescribed column.

Guidelines to Fill ‘Form B – Institute Preference Form’

The list of colleges participating in the counselling process will be available in the institute preference. The candidates must give a preference number (like 1, 2, 3, 4....) to each college. If the candidates fill ‘1’ for a particular college, it means that the candidate is aiming for a seat in that particular college. The institution preference form will have the names of 6-7 colleges, and the candidates are advised to give the reference number for each college for better admission chances.

After filling in the preferences, paste/ affix the passport-size photograph in the prescribed column.

Guidelines to Fill ‘Form C – Admission Record Sheet’

The candidates must fill in the following details in Form C –

1. Personal Details

2. Assam CEE details such as Roll Number, Rank, etc

3. Class 12 Exam and Marks Details

After filling in the above details, the candidates must affix/ paste the passport-size photograph in the prescribed column.

The candidates must make sure that all the details filled in the application form are correct. Overwriting and scribbling must be avoided in the application form. Candidates must proceed to the counselling process along with the application form on the scheduled date.

Documents Required for Assam B Tech Admission 2024

The candidates must carry the following documents to the Assam B.Tech counselling venue. The candidates must make sure that they carry original documents for verification along with self-attested photocopies of the below documents –

• PRC (Permanent Residence Certificate)

• Category/ Caste Certificate (if applicable)

Assam B Tech Counselling Process 2024

DTE Assam conducts offline counselling for Assam B.Tech admissions. The candidates who filled out the application form must be present at Assam Engineering Institute on the specified date along with the application process and mandatory certificates/ documents (as mentioned above). The counselling process for Assam B.Tech admissions is divided into seven stages, and the details are elaborated on below –

Step 1 – Payment of Counselling Fee:

After reaching the counselling venue, the candidates are required to pay Rs. 600 towards the counselling fee at the specified counter. The candidates will receive a counselling fee payment receipt.

Step 2 – Reporting:

The Counselling Team present at the venue will call the ranks, and the candidates with those Assam CEE ranks must report to the counselling team to submit the application form (Form A, B & C).

Step 3 – Certificate Verification:

After reporting, the counselling team will direct the candidates to proceed with certificate verification.

Step 4 – Seat Allotment:

The seat allotment for the B.Tech course in government engineering colleges will be done at the counselling venue instantly. The process of college and engineering branch allocation is strictly based on Assam CEE rank and reservation policies. The candidates must communicate their preference for the branch to the counselling team, and the allocation will be made accordingly.

Step 5 – Computerised Entry of Admission Details:

The concerned authority will allocate a seat to the candidates and enter the details in the computer for issuing a seat allotment letter.

Step 6 – Issue of Seat Allotment Letter:

The counselling team will issue the printout of the seat allotment letter to the candidates. The seat allotment letter will have the name and branch allocated to the candidates.

Step 7 – Reporting to Allocated College:

The candidates must report to the allocated engineering institution on the specified date for completing other admission formalities such as admission fee payment etc. If the candidates fail to report to the college on the specified date, his/ her admission will be canceled.

There is no centralized or online counselling process for B.Tech admission in government engineering colleges of Assam. The admission authority conducts an offline admission process for these colleges, and students must be aware of the counselling process for the same.
