About NIT Trichy
NIT Trichy considers GATE scores for admission to M.Tech courses. GATE COAP 2024 seat allotment for round 2 has been released at the official website i.e. iitk.ac.in/coap2024. Candidates can exercise this option till May 22, 2024.
National Institute of Technology Trichy is situated in the Tiruchirappalli division of Tamilnadu. It was established as a joint venture of the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Government of India in 1964. NIT Trichy was formerly known as the Regional Engineering College Tiruchirappalli. With the approval of the Government of India, NIT Trichy was granted deemed university status in 2003. M.Tech and B.Tech are among the popular NIT Trichy courses. Scores of JEE Main are considered for NIT Trichy B.Tech admissions. Candidates securing a rank between 1-2000 in the JEE Main exam have the chance of getting a seat at this prestigious institution. Candidates securing a rank between 300-800 in GATE are generally eligible for NIT Trichy M.Tech admissions. As per the NIT Trichy admission criteria, for B.Tech one has to participate in the JoSAA counselling whereas, for M.Tech, aspirants have to participate in the CCMT counselling.
THE World University Rankings 2023: NIT Trichy was placed in the rank band 801-1000 at the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023. The rankings are based on 13 different factors that measure how well universities teach, do research, share knowledge, and have an international focus. To ensure the rankings are accurate, the researchers studied more than 121 million citations from over 15.5 million research papers and got feedback from 40,000 scholars worldwide. They collected massive information, with over 680,000 data points from more than 2,500 participating universities.
NIRF Ranking 2023: The rankings for 2023 have been released on the NIRF official website. NIT Trichy NIRF Ranking 2023 for the Architecture and Planning category is 4. The ranking is released every year by the Ministry of Education, Government of India based on various parameters namely Research and Professional Practice (RP), Graduation Outcomes (GO), Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR), Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) and Peer Perception. NIT Trichy NIRF Ranking has gone one rank up compared to the last year's rank i.e. 2022. The institute was ranked 5th in the same category. As per the NIRF Ranking 2023, NIT Trichy has bagged the 9th position in the engineering category.

NIT Trichy admission 2024 for B.Tech courses will commence from June 10, 2024. Applicants must be JEE Main qualified in order to be admitted to BTech programmes. JEE Main Session 2 results have been declared by NTA on April 24, 2024. Those who qualify for JEE Main can apply for JoSAA counselling which will tentatively begin from June 10. Admission at NIT Trichy is offered through the performance of the candidate in the entrance exams as well as the marks acquired in the qualifying degrees. It is mandatory for candidates to fulfil the required eligibility criteria for NIT Trichy admission 2024. Once the eligibility criteria are fulfilled, aspirants have to complete the necessary application process. National-level entrance exams such as CAT, GATE, JEE Mains, etc. are accepted for NIT Trichy admission. Once they clear the entrance exam, they further have to participate in the counselling process as a part of the NIT Trichy admission process. Direct admission to NIT Trichy is not offered. For admission to the NIT Trichy B.Tech course, candidates need to clear the JEE Mains exam and attend the JoSAA counselling.
