Candidates who took the Assam Combined Entrance Examination must qualify the Assam CEE 2024 with passing marks. The pass mark is different for candidates of different category. Like for general candidates the cutoff marks is expected to stay between 76 to 72.

Assam CEE Passing Marks 2024: Candidates who appeared for the Assam Combined Entrance Exam 2024 exam must secure the Assam CEE Passing Marks 2024 to be eligible for admission counselling. For a total of 120 questions, the full marks allotted to the paper are 480. Based on the cutoff scores out of 480 marks, candidates are then assigned qualifying marks. The Assam CEE Result 2024 has been announced by the authority on June 19, 2024. Only those who qualify for the exam shall be shortlisted for Assam CEE Counselling 2024 . The Assam Combined Entrance Exam ( Assam CEE 2024 ) is a state-level entrance test conducted annually by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) for admission to undergraduate engineering courses in the top B. Tech colleges in Assam.

Assam CEE 2024 Passing Marks

The passing marks for Assam CEE 2024 exam determine one’s eligibility to attend counselling conducted by the Assam CEE Participating Colleges 2024 . It is released in the form of Assam CEE Cutoff 2024 for different categories of students. Based on the cutoff scores out of 480 marks, candidates are then assigned merit positions and on the basis of merit, seat allocation is done at the time of counselling.

Factors Determining Assam CEE Passing Marks 2024

There are a number of facts that come to play when determining the Assam CEE cutoff or passing marks every year. These include the following:

  • Candidate’s performance in the entrance test

  • Total number of test takers

  • The difficulty level of the exam

  • Category reservation

  • Previous cutoff trends

Assam CEE 2024 Passing Marks: How are marks calculated?

Candidates must know about the Assam CEE 2024 marking scheme i.e. how marks are awarded to candidates. For a total of 120 questions, the full marks allotted to the paper are 480. Candidates are awarded +4 marks for each correct answer and -1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.

To tally their probable test scores, candidates can follow a simple formula:

Assam CEE 2024 Scores = (Total No. of Correct Answers x 4) – (Total No. of Incorrect Answers x 1)

Assam CEE 2024 Passing Marks: Tie-Breaking Rule for B. Tech Admissions

DTE applies the tier-breaker rule if two or more candidates end up scoring the same marks in Assam CEE 2024 exam. In such cases, to determine the rank of the candidates, the following shall be implemented in order of preference:

  • The PCM aggregate of Class 12 shall be considered to shortlist candidates

  • If a tie exists, then the combined aggregate of PCM and English shall be considered.

  • If the tie still persists, then DTE will select the candidates on different terms, such as age.

Assam CEE 2024 Result

The Directorate of Technical Education, Assam, has released the Assam CEE Result 2024 in the form of a rank card featuring the names, marks, and ranks of all the qualified candidates. Once released, students will be able to check their status online.

Assam CEE 2024 Counselling

The counselling process for Assam CEE 2024 will begin soon. Candidates who have managed to obtain the minimum Assam CEE 2024 Passing Marks will have to register online to enroll for admission to the participating institutes. Candidates can choose their preferred colleges and courses as per their ranks. However, it must be noted that securing the minimum cutoff does not guarantee admission to these colleges. The final admission will be done after the Assam CEE 2024 Seat Allotment of candidates based on merit.
