Engineering is one of the most popular courses that are undertaken by students after completing their intermediate studies. There are various specialisations in engineering stream and the students have various options to choose the branch of their choice and interest. Among all the branches in engineering, the two most popular ones are Computer Science Engineering and Information Science Engineering. Both Computer Science Engineering and Information Science Engineering are good courses and offer many job opportunities after the successful completion of the course. However, students are mostly confused between choosing one of these branches because of the lack of understanding of similarities and differences between the two courses.
Computer Science Engineering and Information Science Engineering are almost similar in terms of the syllabus covered in undergraduate studies except for a few subjects. However, there are some differences between the two branches which are listed below:

Let us discuss the two branches in detail further:
Computer Science Engineering (CSE)
Computer Science Engineering is the branch of Engineering which covers the basics of computer programming, application of computer systems and software in the real world and networking. The students who pursue Computer Science Engineering learn the fundamentals of computer hardware and software. Apart from this, there are various other topics in Computer Science Engineering course. It includes algorithms, web design and web development, software testing, operating systems, etc.
Both undergraduate and postgraduate courses are offered in Computer Science Engineering. Student can do B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering after the completion of Class 12th from an engineering college. Those who want to go for postgraduate studies in Computer Science Engineering can go for M.Tech in Computer Science Engineering after completion of the B.Tech course.
