To take admission in the Delhi University's BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences programme 2022, interested candidates need to appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences. Check out the eligibility criteria, application process etc.

DU BA (Hons) Humanities & Social Science Admission

The University of Delhi offers a wide variety of UG and PG courses and programmes. Delhi University’s BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences is one such degree that is different from the other programmes offered by DU. BA (Hons) Social Sciences and Humanities is a degree that is offered by the Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) and the degree is offered to the student as an innovation degree.The candidates who plan to pursue the programme from DU’s Cluster Innovation Centre will be able to construct their own degree, i.e. they will be able to choose their own subjects and courses that they wish to study under BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Science. Those studying BA (Hons) Social Sciences and Humanities will also have the opportunity to pursue the respective programme from any Delhi University affiliated college, which they call the 'meta-college' concept.

However, the first and the last semester of the programme will be conducted at the CIC itself.BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences is an interdisciplinary course, which means that the student will be able to choose any subject or course under the programme. The student will be asked to conduct research work at the undergraduate level itself. Among the courses that the student will be able to pursue under the programme are Journalism , Design , Art, Historical Tourism and Counselling.

From this year onwards, admissions to all the undergraduate programmes of Delhi University including BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences will be conducted through the CUET exam . The scores of CUET 2022 will be the sole parameter for granting admission to the candidates who are eager to pursue the said degree offered by Delhi University. The entrance exam is being conducted by NTA from July 15-August 20 in two phases.

DU BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Exam Eligibility 2022

To pursue the interdisciplinary course from the premier university, you will first be required to meet the necessary DU BA(Hons) Humanities and Social Science entrance exam eligibility criteria 2022. Candidates of BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences of DU were advised to go through the course-specific eligibility requirements before applying for the entrance exam. Check the eligibility criteria as outlined below:

  • Candidates must be qualified in class 12 examination
  • Appearing in the CUET exam to qualify for DU’s BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences is mandatory.
  • Candidates must opt for any 1 language from List A.
  • Three subjects out of which 2 subjects must be from List B1.
  • Candidates who have gap year can also apply for the entrance exam.

DU BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Science Entrance Exam Application Process 2022

After ensuring that they meet the necessary eligibility requirements, the candidates need to complete the application process. The DU BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Science Entrance Exam application process for 2022 has ended now. For admission to the above-mentioned programme, candidates had to apply for the CUET exam through the official website of NTA. The detailed admission procedure is defined below:

Step 1: CUET 2022 registration has been done by the aspirants in order to fill up the application form.

Step 2: In the next stage, CUET 2022 application form was filled up to apply for the DU BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Science programme.

Step 3: Photograph, signature, class 10/equivalent certificate, category certificate etc, had to be uploaded according to the size mentioned by NTA.

Step 4: Then candidates had to deposit the application fees through online/offline mode.

Step 5: Once the CUET application form was submitted, candidates took the printout copy of the application form for future reference.

Note: All candidates were advised to take a printout of the registration fee receipt for future admission references.

The documents required for DU BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences application are similar to the documents required for other UG programmes offered by the University of Delhi. Here is the list of documents required for DU BA (Hons) Humanities and Social Sciences Admissions:

  • Digital and scanned copy of candidates’ passport-sized photograph
  • Scanned copy of the signature
