The GATE 2025 Statistics syllabus and exam pattern are released by IIT Roorkee on the official website. The GATE 2025 Statistics exam will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test on February 16, 2025. Every year, around 2500 contenders register for the GATE Statistics paper.

GATE 2025 Statistics: IIT Roorkee will be conducting the GATE Statistics 2025 exam. The GATE exam 2025 is scheduled on February 1, 2, 15 & 16, 2025. The official GATE 2025 ST exam date has been announced and it will be conducted on February 16, 2025. The exam of GATE ST has seen an average of 2500 registrations over the last 3 years, out of which, around 1450 of them take the exam. With over 2500 registrations yearly for GATE Statistics, it can be said that Statistics is not a popular GATE paper. On contradictory, qualifying for a GATE Statistics paper is not easy as there are limited seats in the M.Tech statistics specialization in the GATE participating colleges. Talking about the test, the GATE 2025 exam will be held for duration of 3 hours and the paper will have a total weightage of 100 marks. Furthermore, the GATE 2025 ST syllabus involves topics such as Matrix Theory, Standard Discrete and Continuous Univariate Distributions, Non-parametric Statistics, etc. After you qualify for the GATE 2025 Statistics exam, you will be able to get admission to the IIT’s/ NIT’s offering the course.

List of Two Paper Combinations for GATE 2025 Statistics

The list of GATE two paper combinations has been released. If you choose Statistics (ST) as the first paper, then you will be able to choose any of the following papers as the second paper.

  • Computer Science and Information Technology (CS)
  • Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DA)
  • Mathematics (MA)
  • Humanities and Social Sciences (XH)

*Note: An additional GATE 2025 application fee will be applicable for the second combination subject.

Total Number of Candidates Appeared for GATE Statistics: Past Trends

GATE Statistics is one of the few papers opted for by exam takers in the last 3 years with around 2500 registrations. In the GATE 2024 exam, 2663 students registered for GATE out of which only 1994 appeared. Similarly, in the GATE 2023 exam, 2561 students registered out of which 1429 appeared for the exam. There is a gap of around 500 students who register for the GATE statistics paper but don't really appear for the exam. GATE Statistics Qualifying Trends Over the Years

With around 1400 students sitting for the GATE Statistics exam only a handful of students qualify. The GATE cutoff is not easy to score and requires a lot of hard work.
