MTech Admission without GATE - IISc Bangalore has released the GATE 2024 scorecard on its official website following the announcement of GATE Result 2024 . Candidates who do not have a good rank or score in GATE 2024 can still be eligible for admission to top institutes like IITs, NITs, and IIITs. For those, who are unaware, M.Tech Admission 2024 to these institutes is mostly done through national, and state-level entrance exams. However, M Tech admission 2024 without GATE is also offered admission through sponsorship, and Quality Improvement Programs (QIP). Other than this, direct admission in MTech without GATE in IIT and NIT is also based on merits in the previous qualifying exam i.e. through direct admission. Direct MTech Admission in IITs and NITs without GATE

M Tech admission 2024 without GATE in government colleges such as IITs and NITs have certain provisions. Candidates aspiring for direct admission in MTech without GATE in IIT must be a BTech graduate of an IIT and they must have a CGPA of 8 or above to be eligible for direct admission. Sponsored Candidates

Candidates who have a working experience of more than 3 years and are ready to prove that they are in a stable state to apply for higher education can apply for M Tech admission 2024 without GATE in government colleges such as IITs and NITs. Quality Improvement Program (QIP)

Quality Improvement Program (QIP) was initiated by the government of India for the teaching staff having 3+ years of experience in the teaching field by giving them a chance to attend India’s topmost engineering schools. The All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) established the QIP initiative to improve the quality of technical education in India. As part of the QIP, IITs, NITs, and other government-funded engineering colleges provide places to candidates who do not have a GATE score. Candidates who qualify for the eligibility criteria are welcome to apply to IITs and NITs under this scheme.

M.Tech Admission for Sponsored Seats at IISc, IITs and NITs

IISc, IITs and NITs offer regular M.Tech seats to candidates who have been sponsored by their employers. These candidates don’t need to appear for the GATE entrance exam for admission to M.Tech programmes. The eligibility criteria for direct admission in MTech without GATE in IIT, NITs and IISc for sponsored seats are as follows:

  • Candidates must have completed B Tech or B.E. with the minimum qualifying marks (vary from institute to institute).

  • Candidates applying for M.Tech through sponsored seats must have worked for more than 2 years.

  • Candidates should have been granted 2-year study leave by their employers.

  • The employer must take the responsibility to provide financial support for the candidate throughout the 2-year course.

  • Some of the IITs and NITs may also conduct their own written test for admission to M.Tech programmes through sponsored seats.

M.Tech Entrance Exams for IIITs, Deemed Institutes and States

MTech Without GATE Admission in Central and State Universities

Various central and state universities admit students based on GATE as well as their separate entrance exams. You will find that some of the central, as well as the state, universities reserve some M.Tech seats for admission through GATE, and the remaining seats, are filled based on their own M.Tech entrance exams.

Pondicherry University

To be considered for admission to Pondicherry University's M.Tech programme, students must have graduated with a minimum of 55% in BE or BTech in relevant disciplines from an accredited university.

MTech Without GATE Admission in Private Universities and Private Deemed Universities

If you are okay with spending some extra money on your education, you can also apply for private universities or privately deemed universities. MTech admission without GATE are either based on marks secured in graduation or based on entrance exams conducted by the respective university.

Study M.Tech Part-Time

You can also study MTech as a part-time course or online course if you can't dedicate complete hours. For taking admisison in online MTech course or part-time, GATE scores are not required. This option is usually considered by people who are busy with their jobs or have other additional responsibilities. Dear Muskan, 

Through its School of Engineering, JNU offers a full-time BTech programme with two specialisations namely CSE and ECE. The programme persists for four years. The programme generally comprises a total of eight semesters of undergraduate coursework. JEE Main rank is required for admission to B.Tech programme at Jawaharlal Nehru University which is followed by JoSAA counselling. During the JoSAA Counselling, students who score over and above the JNU admission cut off are offered admissions subject to the availability of seats.
