    • Molar mass of NaCl = 23 + 35.5 = 58.5 g/mole
    • Calculate the number of moles of NaCl:
    • Moles = Mass / Molar mass
    • Moles = 11.7 g / 58.5 g/mol = 0.2 mol
    • Convert the volume of water to liters:
    • 200 mL = 200 / 1000 = 0.2 L
    • Calculate the molarity:
    • Molarity (M) = Moles of solute / Liters of solution
    • M = 0.2 mol / 0.2 L = 1 M
    • Answer: The molarity of the solution is 1 M.

To be eligible for IIIT Hyderabad’s Undergraduate Entrance Examination (UGEE) in 2025, candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as compulsory subjects.
