What after XAT Results 2025?

After the XAT 2025 results are out, the candidate should follow a set process to ensure that he gets admission into his desired MBA college. Here is a detailed guide about what to look for after the results:

  1. Check Your Percentile

Log in to the official XAT portal. Download the scorecard and verify the overall and sectional percentiles with utmost care. Percentiles will give you a better idea of your score and colleges matching your score range. Sectional percentiles are extremely important for colleges with sectional cutoffs.

  1. Shortlist Colleges

Based on the percentile of XAT, say 50-60, you need to start shortlisting colleges taking scores falling within this range. Using tools such as college predictors or gauging the list of colleges falling into this percentile range will help one shortlist colleges. While shortlisting, factors such as course fees, placements, infrastructure, and specializations must be weighed carefully and at the top of the list. This step will be very important in channelling your academic and career goals in favour of the right institutions.

  1. Applying to Colleges

Then, log on to the official websites of all shortlisted colleges, check for application deadlines, and apply to the colleges you wish to. Fill up your application forms and submit the required application fees promptly. Be extremely cautious about early submission, for some colleges sometimes require submission of the application even before the declaration of XAT results. Ensure that you have not presented any false information.

  1. Prepare for Selection Rounds

Once you have applied, do your homework for the subsequent stages of the admission process, such as Group Discussions, Written Ability Tests, and Personal Interviews. Practice for mock GDs, working on your essay-writing skills and updating yourself on current affairs. Prepare to discuss your academic background, career objectives, and any accomplishments in various activities during the interview.

  1. Participate in Selection Rounds

The colleges will inform you of the schedule for GD/WAT and PI rounds. You must attend these rounds as per the given schedule. Use this opportunity to show confidence, good communication skills, and analytical reasoning skills. These rounds are meant to see your personality, ability to solve problems, and your merit for the MBA program.

  1. Wait for Admission Offers

After the selection rounds, the colleges will evaluate your performance in the XAT and in GD/WAT, PI, as well as your academic records. Based on these enclosed factors, the final admission offers will be released. Along with tracking your email, also keep checking the respective college portals for any updates. This could be a good time to revisit your financial options for funding your MBA.

  1. Accept Offer and Pay Admission Fees

Once you have received the admission offer from the college of your choice, confirm your acceptance within the stipulated time and remit the admission fees. There are chances that some colleges may also require the submission of certain documents at this stage. Complete all formalities on time so as to secure your seat in the program.

With a low percentile range, you should consider applying to a mix of well-established MBA programs that might have flexible admission criteria. Also note that there are many colleges across India that offer direct MBA admission without entrance exam .

If anyone gets 60 percentile in CAT, does he get admission to KIIT for general?

Aarushi Jain, Content Team

If you are looking to get into KIIT University's MBA program, a 60 percentile in CAT may not be enough, especially for candidates in the general category. Normally, KIIT sets its cutoff higher, often between 75 and 80 percentile or more for general category applicants. While a 60 percentile can get you eligible for admission to other colleges, it is usually not up to the mark according to KIIT. A higher percentile is expected and recommended for a better chance of getting into KIIT.
