How to Convert CMAT 2024 Score to Percentile?
The conversion method for CMAT rank to percentile will follow the same method as in previous years, such as 2023, 2022, 2021, or 2020. However, the values to convert the marks to percentile will be different.
There are some criteria that are taken into consideration while calculating the percentile, that is as follows:
The rank of the candidate mentioned on the CMAT scorecard.
The number of candidates who appeared in the examination with a score equal to or less than the candidate
Total number of candidates
According to the above-mentioned parameter, The CMAT rank will be mentioned in the results, but to understand the remaining two parameters, we will take some hypotheses into consideration.
For example, If a student has acquired rank 1, and the total number of students is 100, then the number of candidates who appeared in the examination with a score equal to or less than the candidate will be 100-1 = 99.
Then, we have to follow the following formula:
CMAT Percentile = (100 x No. of candidates with a score less than or equal to the candidate) / Total No. of Candidates |
---|
Example 1: In this case, the percentile of our candidate who has obtained 1st rank will be as follows,
(100 x 99)/100 = 99 (percentile)
Example 2: If the total number of students in CMAT is 523 and a candidate had obtained a rank of 15 and the number of candidates who appeared in the examination with a score equal to or less than the candidate would be 523-15 = 508, then the equation would look like this,
(100 x 508)/523 = 97 (approx round percentile)
