List of NAAC 'A' Grade Colleges & Universities:
NAAC 'A' Grade stands for a college or university that has met high educational and administrative quality standards as determined by India's National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Every country's development is largely dependent on its educational system. Higher education is therefore highly valued in terms of both quantity (more access) and quality (academic programs offered that are relevant and of the highest calibre).
Thus, the NAAC was created to help volunteer institutions evaluate their performance against predetermined parameters through self-reflection and a procedure that allows institutional participation. The institutions are divided into four groups based on each Key Aspect: Very good, good, satisfactory, and unsatisfactory, denoted by the letters A, B, C, and D. The following criteria are used for NAAC accreditation.
Criteria for NAAC Accreditation
- Curricular Aspects: The standard and applicability of the provided curriculum.
- Teaching-Learning and Evaluation: The efficiency of the instructional strategies and evaluation procedures.
- Extension, Innovations, and Research: Supporting Community Services and Research.
- Infrastructure and Educational Materials: The accessibility of facilities and materials for learners.
- Assistance and Advancement for Students: Programs designed to assist students in succeeding academically.
- Leadership, Governance, and Management: The efficiency of institutional leadership and management.
NAAC Grading System
Based on each significant component or criterion, India's higher education institutions are divided into four groups, or "A," "B," "C," and "D." From very good to good to satisfactory to unsatisfactory, the NAAC ranking indicates college performance. Weighting is utilised to produce the overall NAAC grade score for all significant factors under a given criterion, and the NAAC college ranking criterion establishes the GPA.
The cumulative GPA (CGPA), which is the result of adding the seven GPAs corresponding to the seven criteria and allocating the proper weight to each, yields the final assessment outcome.
Benefits of CGPA for NAAC Ranking
- Letter grades are converted to numerical rating points (the total score in the Cumulative Grade Point Average).
- For qualitative measurements, grade points were assigned.
- More room to normalise scores.
- If there are extreme biases, they could be lessened.
- Because variances and standard deviations would be lower, the relative evaluation would be more accurate.
- Variances across peer teams are dramatically reduced.
- The judgement would be more trustworthy if there was little opportunity for error at any point.
The CGPA determines the assessment's final result, which is then calculated from the seven GPAs of the key parameters mentioned earlier. More details are provided further down.
