MAHA TET Exam

The official notification for the MAHA TET 2025 exam (Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test) will be issued by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination in September 2025. Soon after the release of the official notification, the MAHA TET application form will be made available on the official website at mahatet.in. The registrations for MAHA TET are likely to begin in the first week of September 2025 and end by September last week . Students will be able to download their MAHA TET admit cards by logging in to the official website a few days before the examination.

The exam dates for MAHA TET 2025 are yet to be announced. Based on previous year trends, the exam is expected to be held in November 2025 . The MAHA TET exam will be conducted in two phases: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for those students who want to teach from Class 1 to Class 5. Whereas, Paper 2 is for those students who want to teach from Class 6 to Class 8. Students who wish to teach Classes 1 to 8 will be required to sit for both papers. Students must check out the MAHA TET eligibility criteria before applying for this examination. Here is the detailed eligibility qualification required to sit for the MAHA TET 2025:

  • Must be Indian citizens.
  • Must be residents of Maharashtra.
  • Must have received at least 45% of the possible points in their Senior Secondary or equivalent test.
  • Maharashtra TET 2025 has a minimum age requirement of 18 and a maximum age limit of 35 years.
  • Applicants for Paper 2 must have earned a minimum of 60% in their undergraduate degree or be a four-year Bachelor of Teaching current student/graduate.
  • Applicants who have completed or are enrolled in a 2-year teaching degree program.
  • Applicants who passed or are scheduled to pass the entrance exam for the Upper Primary Section (6-8) with a 50% score can also apply.

MAHA TET Eligibility Criteria for Primary Teachers (Classes 1 to 5)

  • The minimum qualification required for the Primary Teachers is Intermediate (Class 12) with 50% marks and 45% for reserved categories.
  • Must have passed a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed) or Bachelor of Elementary Education with at least 45 - 50% of marks.
  • Applicants pursuing final-year D.EI.Ed/ Bachelor of Elementary Education are also eligible to apply for the MAHA TET 2025.
  • Applicants holding a B.Ed degree can also apply for the MAHA TET 2025 Paper 1.

MAHA TET Eligibility Criteria for Upper Primary Teachers (Classes 6 to 8)

To take the Maharashtra TET exam, you need to apply in the online mode. Follow these steps to register for the MAHA TET 2025 examination:

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of MAHA TET at mahatet.in and register yourself, after which you will receive a registration number and password via your registered email ID.
  • Step 2: With your login credentials, click on the MAHA TET 2025 application form and fill it out with all the required information.
  • Step 3: While filling the application form, choose the exam level you wish to appear for: Classes 1 to 5 / Classes 6 to 8. If you wish to sit for both the exams (Classes 1 to 8), then select “Both”.
  • Step 4: Upload your photograph and signature. Your photograph should be 3.5cm x 4.5cm and between 5KB and 100KB in size.  Scan and upload a black-ink signature that is between 2KB and 50 KB.
  • Step 5: Pay the MAHA TET registration fee and hit the submit button. The Maharashtra State Council of Examination only accepts online payments. Use a debit card, credit card, internet banking, or UPI to pay the exam fee.
  • Step 6: After you hit the submit button, you can print out the MAHA TET application form for future reference.

Maharashtra TET Results 2025

MSCE releases the MAHA TET Results 2025. Students must log in using their registration number and password to see their results, which will be available online. Students need to score at least 60% in both Papers 1 and 2. MSCE will provide the TET Eligibility certificate to applicants who meet the council's requirements.

How to Challenge Maha TET 2025 Answer Key

MAHA TET 2025 Application Fee

  • To apply successfully, students must pay an application fee. Any online payment method, including a credit card, debit card, or Internet banking, will be used to submit the application fee.
  • The application cost for general and OBC applicants is Rs. 500 for one paper and Rs. 800 for two papers.
  • The application cost for SC/ST applicants is Rs. 250 for one paper and Rs. 400 for two papers.

Maharashtra TET Admit Card 2025

  • Students can download the Maharashtra TET 2025 admit card from the official website of the organisation in charge of administering the test.
  • Around fifteen days prior to the start of the exam, applicants will receive their admit cards.
  • The admit card must be printed out by applicants.
  • Admit cards may include information like the student's roll number as well as personal information such as name, father's name, exam date, time, and location.
  • On the day of the exam, the admit card must be brought with you as a must.
  • No applicants will be permitted entry into the exam room without a valid admit card.

MAHA TET 2025 Latest Exam Pattern

The Maharashtra State Council of Examination made some changes in the MAHA TET exam pattern in the year 2019. It introduced two different papers under MAHA TET, wherein Paper-1 is conducted for aspirants who wish to teach classes 1-5, meanwhile, Paper-2 is conducted for those students who wish to teach classes 6-8. The changes brought in by the MSCE made it mandatory for the aspirants who wish to be a teacher for classes 1-8 to appear for both Paper-1 and Paper-2.

MAHA TET 2025 Paper-1 Exam Pattern

The students who wish to teach the students in classes 1-5, will need to appear for MAHA TET Paper-1. This paper will also be required for those aspirants who wish to teach classes 1-8. Here is the detailed MAHA TET Exam Pattern for Paper-1.

The MAHA TET Paper-1 exam pattern includes questions that will be asked in the MCQ format, each question carrying 1 mark. MAHA TET 2025 Paper-1 will be conducted for a total of 150 marks, divided equally between 5 topics, i.e. 30 questions each in every topic. The students will be given 1½ hours to attempt all the questions. Students will not be punished with negative markings for any wrong answers.

MAHA TET 2025 Paper - 2 Exam Pattern

The MAHA TET Paper-2 is applicable for aspirants who wish to teach classes 6-8 as well as for those who wish to teach classes 1-8. The examination, like Paper-1, will be conducted for the posts of teachers available in the schools of Maharashtra. All students who are interested in sitting for the examination must note that they will be given 1 and a half hours to attempt all the questions. The question paper will carry 150 marks, one mark each for every question. The marks have been divided among 4 topics, as mentioned below.
