How VIT Prepares VITEEE 2025 Seat Allotment?
VIT University considers VITEEE rank as the sole factor for the seat allotment. However, the choices filled by the candidate also play an important role in deciding the admission. Here are some of the important facts about VITEEE 2025 seat allotment with examples -
Example 1
The first rank of a candidate choosing a specific course in any of the VIT campuses shall be treated as the opening rank. For example, if a student with VITEEE rank 3 chooses CSE at VIT Vellore and no one below the third rank opted for this course at the respective campus, the seat will be allocated to the candidate with the third rank. In simple words, the candidate will be the first student to get admission to VIT Vellore in B.Tech CSE.
Example 2
If a total number of candidates between 1-20,000 ranks in VITEEE choosing B.Tech CSE at VIT Vellore is 700, all these 700 candidates will get admission in B.Tech CSE, as the total number of seats available in VIT Vellore for B.Tech CSE is almost 1,000 and 700 candidates between 1-20,000 rank opted for this course. The admission is granted based on merit.
Example 3
If a candidate with a VITEEE rank of 10 chosen B.Tech ECE at VIT Vellore and no student with a rank less than 10 opted ECE, the candidate with tenth rank will be the first person to get admission in ECE. If the number of seats available in B.Tech ECE is 300 and the candidate with the 200 rank opted for this college, then admission will be granted to the candidate with the rank 200 as per merit.
