What are the reservation criteria for the SC category for the CAT exam 2024?
You must fulfil the requirements established by the Indian government to be eligible for the 15% reservation under the SC category. First, confirm that, by the official rules, you fall inside the SC group. You must also present a genuine caste certificate that has been duly signed by the relevant authorities. The document needs to be scanned, self-attested and saved as a 200 KB maximum PDF file before it can be uploaded. It is required that all SC, ST, and OBC-NCL certificates be self-attested, scanned, and uploaded in PDF format. A file up to 200 KB in size is OK. You may get more information on that on the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes' website, ncst.nic.in.
Will there be any CAT reservation for women for admission to IIMs?
Women candidates do not have any quota seats in the CAT; however, the IIMs have chosen to have gender diversity on their respective campuses. Consequently, women candidates who score high percentiles and submit robust applications have a much higher likelihood of obtaining admission into the premier IIMs in the country.
Can an SC/ST reserved category student get a General category seat in IIM?
Yes! You can get a seat in the general category if you are in the SC/ST reserved category and your percentile is higher than the cutoff. Remember, though, that if you opt to be classified as general, you will not be eligible to benefit from any category-specific relaxations, including those on age or scores, during the counselling process.
