- There will be a total of 100 questions, with 20 questions in each section. Each question is worth 4 marks.
- For each incorrect response, one mark is subtracted; however, there is no mark reduction for a question or questions that are not attempted.
Is there a sectional time limit in CMAT?
No, the CMAT exam 2024 will not have a sectional time limit. Candidates have 180 minutes to complete 100 questions, and it is up to them how they use that time. Candidates can choose the order of sections in which they want to attempt the CMAT question paper. Candidates are advised to manage their time effectively so they can answer every question completely and completely accurately.
Which section of CMAT has the highest weightage?
No single section on the CMAT question paper has the highest weightage in the exam. The CMAT exam has multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each worth four marks, and each section is equally weighted. Negative marking is present in all sections and one point is deducted for each incorrect attempt. Each section is worth 100 marks in total, and the CMAT exam as a whole is worth 400 marks.
How to prepare for the CMAT exam?
The preparation for CMAT requires the same effort and devotion as any other competitive entrance exam of this level. Candidates must gain strong conceptual clarity in the key CMAT topics. Practicing CMAT sample papers, past papers, and mock tests are of utmost importance. Candidates should also choose an exam strategy based on their strengths and areas of weakness to achieve the best score possible.
What is the exam pattern for CMAT?
The CMAT exam is divided into five sections, including Quantitative Technique and Data Interpretation, Language Comprehension, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship, in accordance with the exam's format. The exam carries a 400 marks maximum score, with 100 points allotted to each section. There will be a total of 100 questions, with 20 questions in each section. How can I secure a 99 percentile in CMAT?
A candidate should aim for 300+ marks on the CMAT if they want to score 99+ percent. A candidate can expect to receive 320–340 marks, which translates to a 99 percentile score, if they are able to attempt 80–85 questions out of 100 correctly in each section. Candidates must correctly answer around 15 questions per section.
Is CMAT tougher than MAT?
Both the MAT and the CMAT are speed-based exams with the same syllabus. CMAT, on the other hand, has an additional section and is more challenging than MAT. However, MAT has an advantage over CMAT in that it allows for multiple exam attempts during a single academic session, in contrast to CMAT, which is only offered once a year.
What is the difficulty level of the CMAT exam?
Typically, the CMAT exam is of moderate difficulty. The last few years have shown that the quantitative aptitude section is typically more difficult than the other sections. Candidates can pass the CMAT with about three months of preparation because the questions are simpler and there is no sectional time limit. There are more than 1,000 MBA colleges in India that accept CMAT scores.

Can CMAT be cracked with 1 month of preparation?
It is feasible to pass the CMAT exam after just one month of study. But if you want to prepare for the CMAT in a month, you'll need to cover the syllabus quickly and practice a lot.
