What is CMAT?
CMAT or Common Management Admission Test is a national-level examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The examination is conducted for admission to AICTE-approved institutions situated in India. CMAT is conducted every year in the month of April (tentatively).
What is CET?
MAH MBA CET or Maharashtra Master in Business Administration Common Entrance Test is a state-level MBA entrance examination conducted for admission to the MBA colleges of Maharashtra. The exam is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education DTE, Maharashtra every year in the month of March-April (tentatively).

The question paper of CMAT is divided into four sections namely General Awareness, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation & Language Comprehension. The question paper has an additional section i.e Innovation & Entrepreneurship. On the other hand, the sections of the MAH MBA CET exam are Logical Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Verbal Ability / Reading Comprehension. Both exams contain Objective type multiple-choice questions that need to be answered by choosing one out of the four options provided. MAH MBA CET Counselling Process 2023
The MAH MBA CET counselling process starts by registering for counselling. Candidates who are registering for the counselling round can choose their desired courses and institutions. After that, candidates are called for the document verification round where the authorities verify all the details filled in by the candidates. Seats will be allotted on the basis of choices made by the candidates during the form-filling process. Once the seat is allotted to the candidates, they will have to pay the counselling fee and confirm their admission.
CMAT 2023 Selection Process
Once the results of CMAT 2023 are out, candidates can check the cutoff of their desired management institutions to know if they are eligible for admission there or not. After that, they can apply to that college. Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their scores in CMAT and then called for the selection procedure. The selection process for CMAT 2023 mainly includes four rounds i.e. Group Discussion (GD), Written Aptitude Test (WAT), and Personal Interview (PI). Final selection will be done on the basis of performance in all the rounds. Selected candidates may submit the annual fees of the college and confirm their admission.
CMAT vs CET: Key Differences

CMAT has a negative marking one mark while there is no negative marking in the MAH CET exam
CMAT is a national-level entrance exam while MAH CET is a state-level exam
The question paper of the CET examination contains more reasoning type questions in comparison to the CMAT exam
MAH CET has verbal reasoning questions. Around 20 questions are from this section. But no such kinds of questions are asked in the CMAT.
There is an Innovation & Entrepreneurship section in CMAT while there is no such section in the MAH MBA CET exam.
The total duration of the MAH CET exam is 150 minutes while the total duration of the CMAT exam is 180 minutes.
The proportion of quant questions in the question paper of CMAT is more than in CET.

How many times is CMAT conducted in a year?
The Common Management Admission Test, or CMAT, is a national aptitude test that is provided by the NTA for MBA/PGDM admission into AICTE institutions. Every year, in the months of April or Match, NTA administers the CMAT Exam (tentatively). Once a year, the CMAT exam is conducted. The exam is held at various testing facilities in 124 Indian cities. The test city choice is completely up to the candidate. To register for the CMAT, applicants must fill out an online form. Anyone who has earned a bachelor's degree in any field is eligible to apply for the CMAT.
What is the MAH MBA CET marking scheme?
Before, during, and even after the exam, each MAH MBA CET candidate should be familiar with the marking scheme that will be applied to their exam. Candidates who don't have a thorough understanding of the marking scheme won't be able to make wise decisions and may end up scoring poorly. According to the following guidelines, the MAH MBA CET is scored:
- For every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded to the candidates.
- No negative marking is applicable on the exam.
- For not attempting any question, no marks will be deducted from a candidate’s total score
How tough is the CMAT question paper?
The CMAT exam is typically considered to be of a moderate difficulty level. The quantitative aptitude section of the exam is typically more difficult than the other sections, as evidenced by the last few years. Because the questions are simpler and there is no sectional time limit, candidates can pass the CMAT after roughly three months of diligent preparation. Based on percentile trends from prior years, candidates who expect to receive a raw score of 220-225 may perform well on the CMAT exam.
