Cyber Law Admissions in India for the upcoming session is usually carried out on the basis of merit of the candidate in the qualifying examination or score obtained in different law entrance exams. Given below are the eligibility criteria and selection process for Cyber Law:

Cyber Law Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for all the above-mentioned Cyber Law courses shall depend on the level of the course. It may also vary from institute to institute.

For Diploma Cyber Law Courses

Candidates who want to do a diploma course in Cyber Law should go through the eligibility criteria given below:
  • In order to be eligible for any of the available diploma courses, candidates must have passed 10+2 with the minimum required score from a recognised board.

  • In case candidates are applying for a PG Diploma course in Cyber Law, the minimum eligibility shall be for the candidate to have qualified graduation in any discipline from a recognised university.

For Certificate Cyber Law Courses

Candidates can apply for a certification programme in Cyber Law if they do not want to study for a long period of time. Certification courses are usually offered for 3 to 6 months. Take a look at the eligibility criteria for the Certificate Cyber Law course:

  • Candidates seeking admission to certificate courses in Cyber Law must have passed 10th and 12th standard from a recognised board.

For UG Cyber Law Courses

Students who want to study Cyber Law at their undergraduate level must fulfil the following criteria given below:

  • UG Cyber Law course, the aspirant must have passed 10+2 with the minimum required aggregate (45%-50%) score from a recognised board.

For PG Cyber Law Courses

Cyber law can be studied at the postgraduate level, but before filling up the application form for colleges that offer Cyber law, candidates must check if they meet the eligibility criteria:

  • Cyber Law aspirants seeking admission to PG courses in the discipline must have passed the LL.B or equivalent degree from a recognised university with at least 55% marks in aggregate.

For Doctoral Cyber Law Courses

Interested candidates can also study Cyber law at the Doctoral level which is for a duration of 3 to 6 years. Check out the eligibility criteria required to study Cyber Law at PhD level:

  • Candidates applying for PhD in Cyber Law must have a Master’s degree in law or an equivalent degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate from a university recognised by UGC.

  • Candidates with a degree in law and Master’s degree with M.Phil in social sciences or humanities from a recognised university with not less than 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade may also apply for the course.

Cyber Law Selection Process in India

All over India, the selection process for Cyber Law is based on two parameters. They are given below:

  • The merit of the applicant in the qualifying examination.

  • The score obtained by the applicant in the law entrance exam conducted at the national/ state/ institution level.
