- Interested candidates should have passed their graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or institution recognized by Delhi University.
- Students appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to appear in the DU LLB entrance exam. But, these candidates should have completed the educational qualification by the time of counselling.
- There is no age limit to appear for the law entrance exam.
- General/ EWS category candidates should have got 50% minimum marks, OBC/ CW/ PwD category needs to secure 45% and SC/ ST candidates should have passed with a 40% minimum mark.

DU LL.M examination is conducted once a year in LAN-based CBT (Computer Based Test) mode in the English language. Multiple choice questions are asked in the examination and the duration of the exam is 2 hours. A total of 100 questions are asked in the entrance test and the maximum mark is 400. Candidates receive +4 for every correct answer and -1 for every wrong answer.

Candidates who want to apply online must set up a login ID and password. Once the login ID and password have been generated, the applicant must submit an online application on Delhi University's official website. A candidate must fill out an application form by providing personal and academic information, uploading the required paperwork, and paying the application fee. For unreserved/ OBC/ CW applicants, the DU LL.B application fee is Rs 750, while SC/ ST/ PwD/ EWS applicants must pay Rs 300.

Candidates who want to study LL.B at DU should have completed their graduation from a recognised university approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The aggregate marks required to apply for DU LL.B are 50% for general category candidates, 45% for OBC candidates and 40% for SC and ST candidates. 5% relaxation is given to the candidates who belong to the CW category.
