Gear Up for SNAP Test under Symbiosis International University for MBA Programmes
The SNAP test will be held on December 18, 2016 is a pen and paper based test for admission to colleges under Symbiosis International University.
December 2016 is a very crucial month for the MBA aspirants. Just before the month started, IIFT was conducted as if it was a warming-up match. Come the first week of December, students were blazing all their guns and writing multiple entrance tests. CAT was the first, then MAT and MICAT. IBSAT will start on December 16, 2016 and will continue till December 24, 2016. But the number of students looking forward to the 2016 SNAP test is undeterred. Among the private universities, SNAP is, no doubt, one of the most sought after exams to join MBA programs. SNAP 2016 Test will be conducted on December 18, 2016 in 32 cities across India.
Any candidate desirous of joining MBA programs offered by various institutes of Symbiosis International University have to appear in the Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test mandatorily. Remember that you not only need to register for SNAP Test but also register for the institutes offering your choice of program and you have to pay separate program registration fees.
Once you score a certain mark in the SNAP test, you stand a chance to get shortlisted. Following that you will receive a call for the GE-PIWAT, which is conducted individually by the participating institutes through the official portal of SNAP:
- The SNAP test will be held on December 18, 2016 between 14.00 hours. - 16.00 hours
- SNAP is a pen and paper based test
- SNAP is an objective test: Each question has 4 responses. For every wrong answer, deduction of 25% of marks (of the total marks) will be done.

Though SNAP test is conducted to select students for the flagship MBA programs, over time, Symbiosis Universities across India have made SNAP mandatory for admission into all of their management programmes.

Reservation Policy
Unlike many private institutes, all institutes under Symbiosis International University provide reservation to various categories as per the UGC Regulations/ Guidelines. The following is the reservation policy for admission to any program in an institute under SIU. However, Symbiosis Institutes of Management Studies, which has a separate policy.
Sanctioned Intake
- Differently Abled*: 3%
- Scheduled Tribes (ST): 7.5%
- Scheduled Caste (SC): 15%
Over & Above Intake
- International Candidates: 15%
- Kashmiri Migrants: 2 seats per programme
An additional 3% seats are reserved for Differently Abled Category (DAC) in all colleges of SIU

#FOR SIMS (Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies) Reservation of Seats:
- Defence Category - General: As per merit, 80% seats are reserved for children or the wards of Defence personnel
- Defence Category - Special: For dependents of the Defence personnel killed in action or disabled in action or with more than 50% disability are given a concession of 10% seats
- Open Category: Civilian candidates in open category who are sponsored/ recommended by the industry (as per merit) are given a concession of 10% seats
Reservation of Seats Over & Above Intake - Officers of Armed Forces who are on Study Leave as authorised by respective Services HQs are eligible for automatic admission (if they meet the eligible criteria)
