The Gujarat University B.Ed admission 2024 is ongoing and the process is conducted through the Gujarat Common Admission Services (GCAS). The Round 3 admission process is now conducted, where the students submit the registration form and necessary documents. The merit list for this round will be released on July 18, 2024. Candidates eager to get admitted to the B.Ed course had to register themselves on the GCAS portal by June 3, 2024. Gujarat Common Admission Services Portal (GCAS) is a visionary portal launched by the Education Department, Government of Gujarat to streamline and simplify the admission process for graduate, post-graduate and PhD courses in various faculties across 14 Government Universities and its affiliated institutions/ colleges. 

Students can fill in their preference for colleges under Gujarat University through the official website, gujaratuniversity.ac.in from June 6 to June 13, 2024. The Round 1 provisional admission has been conducted from June 14 to June 15, 2024. The preference filling of Gujarat University choices started on June 6, 2024 at 5 pm. The admission will be based on the preference order of the students. Otherwise, admission will be offered based on the choices provided by GCAS 2024. The Round 2 merit list was published on July 9, 2024. 

The university will continue the B.Ed admission process based on merit for all available seats in colleges/ institutes. • Students have to visit the GCAS website or open the admission link for the Government of Gujarat.
• They will then have to complete the registration by entering their name, date of birth as per the HSC Marksheet, mobile and email ID. Your username and password will be sent to you on your registered mobile number and email ID. Candidates are requested to permanently save it to complete the entire admission process.
• After initial registration, candidates have to login again using their user ID and password. During this time, students can fill in the form at different universities and colleges thereunder.
• Enter all your basic details, click on the save button, then add the personal details, click save and next, then add the academic details like your marksheet, category certificate etc. documents. If there is any discrepancy in your entered data and the verification of your original documents at the time of admission, it will cancel your right to admission at a particular round.
• Applicants must have their latest photo and signature with a maximum size of 50 KB (JPG/JPEG Format). The marksheet, caste certificate, EWS certificate, etc have to be uploaded with a maximum size of 200 KB.
• Candidate may fill in their choice of colleges under Gujarat University as per choice from the given list on the website.
• After verifying all the details, if no changes are required, then you can press the Lock button and give consent to lock your particulars. No change of preference of colleges and other particulars will be entertained afterwards. Pay INR 300 online for the admission process through the payment gateway.
• Before submitting the form verify the details filled in your application form, allotment will be based on the data you entered. In case of entering the wrong data, your admission will be cancelled.
• As per choices, those who have selected college/ courses of Gujarat University, must log in with their credentials, select the GU preference portal and rearrange choices of their preferences of admission based on their merit and category on a prescribed date/period. (Those who are not rearranging choices as per their preferences, their choices will be considered as per data provided by the GCAS portal for admission allotment).
• Next, a candidate can download only one admission offer letter for the B.Ed course wherever he/ she can take the admission and has to go for reporting at the respective college with their original documents as per schedule. If he/she fails to do so in the timeline, admission will be liable to be cancelled at that particular round.
• The applicant has to report to the respective college with original documents with their original mark sheets, category certificates and other original documents as well as copies and the Admission Offer Letter of the offered college. 
• Students coming from schools located out of Gujarat state are mandatorily required to obtain a Provisional Eligibility Certificate (PEC) from the Gujarat University.
• Respective colleges will verify all original documents and mark sheets of the student. If all documents and mark sheets are correct and the details and merit rank have been entered, then students can proceed for admission. However, if the marks in the original marksheet of the student differ from the marks of the Admission Offer Letter or any other discrepancy about the category certificate of the candidate, the college will refuse the admission. These students can correct their merit marks or category after completion of 2nd round or whenever the GCAS Portal is announced.
• After verification, the college will enter the ID of the student through the college login and then GCAS will send the OTP to the registered mobile of the student, the college has to enter that OTP on the GCAS Portal to confirm the admission. Then student has to pay fees at the college and secure admission.
• After the completion of the Gujarat University B.Ed admission process, the admission rights in other colleges will be cancelled. If any student is not offered admission to any college/university, he/she may wait till the publication of the next round. Students who have completed their admission process in their designated college cannot take part in the next round.

• The applicant must have earned a bachelor's (10+2+3) or master's degree in science, social science, humanities, or business from a reputable university.
• According to NCTE guidelines, candidates must have received a minimum overall score of 50% (or 45% for applicants in a reserved category) in the qualifying exam to be considered for B.Ed admission.
• Candidates having an engineering degree with a minimum of 55% marks will be eligible for Gujarat University B.Ed admission 2024. 
• There is no upper age limit for B.Ed admission to Gujarat University.
• In a 6:1 ratio, the qualifying exam candidate who studied sociology and philosophy will be admitted to social science courses.
• Candidates must have completed one of the following courses in English medium to be admitted to the B.Ed course in English; Class 12th (Senior Secondary), Graduation, Post Graduation or English as the main subject at UG or PG level.

• The main subject at graduation or post-graduation level is considered as the subject for admission. If allotted seats in any subject are not filled then the college may transfer the seats in other subjects by maintaining an upper limit of 25 seats in the subject. A maximum of 25 seats may be there for any subject at the college level.

Gujarat University follows a centralized common admission procedure to enrol students for the BEd course at different colleges under the university. For Gujarat University B.Ed admission 2024, some criteria are followed by the university during the selection process:

• The seats for the B Ed course are available on a merit basis.
• The merit list will be prepared based on the graduation marks of candidates who have passed their bachelor’s degree.  The merit list includes combined internal and external percentages at the UG level.
• For PG-qualified candidates, the formula used to prepare the merit list is; Admission Merit score = Total % in Graduation + 20% of total in Post Graduation.
• Sociology and philosophy majors will be allowed to enrol in social science courses. Admission will be granted at the college by maintaining a 6:1 ratio.
• There is an option to accept the primary subject at the undergraduate or graduate level. 
• The first subject will be allocated at the time of university admission, and the college will choose the second subject. In this situation, the college will make the final decision.
• At the graduate or postgraduate level, subjects can be chosen following the major subject shown on the mark sheet.

The BEd aspirants should keep in mind some important points regarding the reservation policy during Gujarat University B.Ed admission 2024. 

• 93% of the total seats are set aside for Gujarat University students, 5% for those attending other universities in Gujarat State, including Baba Saheb Ambedkar Open University and 2% for applicants from universities outside Gujarat State. The seats will be distributed entirely based on merit.
• After completion of the centralised admission process for the B Ed course, the associate colleges should fill up the open seats based on inter-se merit as per the instruction provided by the B.Ed admission committee. 
• For Handicapped candidates; 5% of the total seats will be reserved, students who fall under the physical disability category must obtain a certificate from a civil surgeon and submit it along with their application. If the level is between 40% and 60%, they are acceptable based on merit. Additionally, this shouldn't be a barrier to their academic pursuits or day jobs and applicants who are more than 60% disabled cannot enrol in any other category without declaring their condition. If admission is requested without the necessary details, it will be refused and no payments will be reimbursed.
• Students who apply for the reservation category must include a caste certificate signed by an authorized official with their application otherwise it will be rejected.
• SEBC candidates will have to present a Non-Creamy Layer certificate valid for the year 2024-2025, which is valid for 3 years and mentioning “open category does not come in Non-Creamy Layer”.
• Candidates will be regarded in the open category if caste and non-creamy layer certificates are not submitted to the form. The category cannot be altered later on.
• Gujarat University candidates do not need a Provisional Eligibility Certificate (PEC). Candidates from Other Universities of Gujarat (OUG) have to get PEC at the time of admission. A copy of the PEC must be submitted online along with the online form and the original PEC has to be submitted to the college. 
• Suppose the candidate has completed graduation from Gujarat University but completed postgraduation from any other university, has obtained any last degree from another university, has left the last course in between in another university or he/ she is doing any course at present in another university. In that case, the candidate has to get PEC.
