Since its establishment in 1941, Doaba College in Jalandhar has been at the forefront of high-quality, traditional, and professional education. Doaba College Jalandhar (Punjab) is a pioneer North Indian multi-faculty postgraduate co-educational institution. It has a long and illustrious history dating back 74 years. The visionary founding fathers, Sh. Bindraban Sondhi, Rai Bahadur Badri Dass, Sh. Jagan Nath Mittal, and Acharya Lajja Vati, were Arya Samaj Legends and Independence Freedom Fighters who founded Doaba College in 1941 to preach Maharishi Swami Dayanand's ideology.

Doaba College courses are offered in 14 undergraduate &10 postgraduate programs, along with 6 add-on courses. The institution boasts a large, lush green Wi-Fi-enabled campus that spans 21 acres, as well as 65 airy and roomy classrooms, both traditional and ICT-enabled, that can comfortably accommodate the available number of students. Hi-tech Seminar Hall, Multi-media Hall, Multipurpose Hall, and Virendra Auditorium all promote a healthy learning environment. The Doaba College infrastructure features fourteen scientific labs, six computer labs, and two geography labs, all of which are completely equipped with the latest technology.

Doaba College Campus has large playgrounds, a DBT-Botanical Garden, a Green House, a Rose Garden, Computer Labs, a Sports Gymnasium, a Multi-Media Hall, a Hi-tech Studio, an Open Air Theatre, a Boys' and Girls' Hostel, and a rich Library all help students develop their personalities and become potential human resources for national development.

All merit holders and the first 20 students in the district who receive 95% or more in Board/ University examinations receive free enrollment and textbooks for the entire semester. Every year, numerous other scholarships and fee reductions are awarded.

The purpose of Doaba College is to encourage students to learn and attain educational success. 

To that end, various Doaba College scholarships are offered to both mediocre and meritorious students. Various N.G.O.s and philanthropic organizations have partnered with the college to help underprivileged students.

The list of Scholarships at Doaba College Jalandhar

1. Post Graduate Scholarship For University Rank holders

Eligibility: 

• The first and second place winners were undergraduate students who scored at least 60% on their undergraduate exams.
• At the time of acceptance to the PG program, the applicant must be 30 years old

Scholarship duration: Two years

2. Post Graduate Scholarship For Single Girl Child

Eligibility: 

• Female students who are admitted to the first year of a PG program at the college are the family's only girl child.
• Students who are twins or fraternal daughters are also eligible to apply.
• Female students should be under the age of 30 at the time of admission.

Fellowship amount: Rs 36,200 per annum

Duration: two years only.

3. Government of India Ministry of Human Resource Development Department of Higher Education (Scholarship Bureau)

Eligibility: A grade of 80% or higher in 10+2 in the particular stream is required.

• Students must be enrolled in normal courses in colleges/institutions accredited by the All India Council of Technical Education, the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, the Medical Council of India, the Dental Council of India, and other regulatory bodies.

 4. Scheme of Merit cum Means based Scholarship for students belonging to Minority Communities

Eligibility:

• Passed the preceding final examination with a minimum of 50% or comparable grades. Parents'/ Guardians' total annual income should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh.

 5. RPF/RPSF 2021 Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme

Eligibility: 

• A widow or dependent ward of ex-RPF/RPSF members. 
• Students must have received 60 percent or above in their Minimum Educational Qualification(MEQ), which is equivalent to class 12, diploma, or graduation.
• Students must be enrolled in a professional/technical degree program (BE, B.Tech, MBBS, MCA, BCA, B.Pharma, B.Ed, BBS, etc.)
• Only two wards per family are eligible for this Scholarship, which must be guaranteed by both the recipients and the concerned zonal railways/RPSF.

Amount of Scholarship: Rs 2,000 per month for male students, Rs 2,250 per month for female students.

6. Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles

Eligibility:

• Wards/ widows of deceased CAPFs & A.R. troops killed in harness/election duty, wards of persons disabled due to causes related to government service, and wards of Ex-CAPFs & A.R. personnel who have received Gallantry Awards are all eligible.
• Retired and serving CAPFs and A.R. personnel's wards/widows. (Personnel below the rank of officer)
• Dependent children of State Police Officers killed in Terror/ Naxal Attacks.
• Doing a first professional degree program in Engineering, Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, BBA, BCA, B. Pharma, B.Sc (Nursing, Agriculture, etc.), MBA, MCA, and other related fields in compliance with the rules.
• If you are a new applicant, you must have a minimum of 60% in your Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ), which is 10+2/ Diploma/ Graduation or equivalent. 

7. Post Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

Eligibility:

• Students with disabilities and their parents must have an annual income of less than Rs 2.50 lakh rupees.

Scholarship Amount: Different rates of maintenance allowance are available for postgraduate, graduate, diploma, and professional courses leading to a degree, diploma, or other credentials in various areas. It varies from Rs 900-1600 per month for hostellers and Rs 550-750 per month for day scholars, with tuition (maximum ceiling of Rs 1.50 lakh per year), book allowance, and disability allowance ranging from Rs 2000 to INR 4000 per annum.

 8. Others:

• Students who have lost their parents due to corona this year would receive Rs 6000 every year.
• Forwards of frontline workers, corona fighters, and defence personnel, Rs 2000 per year.
• On the basis of their earned marks, 10+2 students are eligible for a 90% scholarship.
• 10% discount for first place in college
• For a single girl child, Rs 2000 per year
• Elective Sanskrit costs Rs 3000 each year.
• Real brother-sister gets a 15% to 20% discount.
• All merit holders and the first 20 students in the district who receive 95% or more in
• Board/University examinations receive free enrollment and textbooks for the entire semester. 
• Those who get a grade of 70% or higher are eligible for a fee reduction. 

Note: To qualify for any form of fee reduction, a student must have passed a previous exam with a minimum of 50%.
