How to Prepare for TS ICET 2024 Analytical Ability?

TS ICET 2024 (Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test) is conducted for admission to MBA and MCA courses for all the Universities in Telangana State and their affiliated colleges. The Analytical Ability section of TS ICET 2024 aims to assess a candidate's ability to use critical thinking and logical reasoning skills. It measures a candidate's comprehension skills and his ability to identify key information, apply logic, and find patterns. 

Before starting the preparation for the TS ICET 2024 Exam, it is imperative for the aspirants to gain insight into the TS ICET exam pattern and marking scheme of the analytical ability section and the major topics asked in the exam. TS ICET is a state-level entrance exam. Kakatiya University conducts the TS ICET exam on behalf of TSCHE. TS ICET 2024 exam will be held on June 5 & 6, 2024.

TS ICET 2024 Analytical Ability Exam Pattern 

The TS ICET Analytical Ability section has 75 questions in total from two subsections, namely, Data Sufficiency and problem-solving. The structure of the Analytical Ability section of the TS ICET exam has been provided in the table below:

• There will be no time limit in solving the question of the analytical ability section.
• There is no negative marking.
• One mark will be awarded for each correct answer.

Data Sufficiency: Candidates require impeccable critical evaluation skills to solve these types of questions because they are given two statements and on the basis of their analytical abilities, they need to check whether the given data is sufficient or not. To avoid getting perplexed, candidates must read the statements carefully and critically analyse the given statements/data, and answer accordingly. Between the two arguments, if the data given in the first option explains everything that the question is asking, then the answer would be Option 1, or, it could be the second option if the first option fails to answer the question. 

Problem Solving: To ace this section, candidates must be well-versed in solving questions on the basis of identification, prioritizing, and finding the correct alternative. Hypothetical and real-life, both types of problems could be asked hence candidates should prepare for both.

• Follow a systematic approach to solving the questions. Solve questions with the first statement first and then proceed with the second separately.

• After reading both options, analyse which of the options helps you reach the conclusion.

• Do not rely on guesswork.

Problem Solving

• Try to figure out the common pattern while solving questions from sequences and series, tables, graphs, Venn diagrams, coding, decoding, calendar problems, notation interpretation, etc. Analyse and find out if most of the questions are a combination of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. One can find squares, cubes, and reverse patterns as well.

• For Sequence & Series, candidates should polish the basic concepts of analogies of numbers and alphabet, completion of blank spaces following the pattern in the a: b: c: d relationship, and odd things out: missing numbers in a sequence or a series. In the odd one out, try to find a similar pattern. If there are names of four places, try to find the odd one out.

• To perform well in the Date, Time & Arrangement Problems, candidates must practice Calendar problems, clock problems, blood relationships, arrivals, departures and schedules, seating arrangements, and symbol and notion interpretation. Keep your practice consistent to answer the questions fast.

• In Coding and Decoding problems, candidates will find a code pattern of the English alphabet. Aspirants must practice how to code and decode a given word or group of letters based on the given code or codes. Solve these questions with speed and accuracy to save time for tricky questions.

• In the Data Analysis section, direct questions are asked based on simple tables and pie charts. Candidates can score full marks in this section if they attempt the questions carefully and with perseverance.
