Latest Changes in CAT 2022: The CAT 2022 official notification has been released and there are certain details around the exam that have been changed this year. No changes around the CAT exam pattern have been announced so far, although students have witnessed many changes in the exam pattern over the years. The CAT exam pattern witnessed a significant shift in the last two years.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of questions and time allowed was substantially reduced. Over the past few years, the CAT application fee has continued to rise, with an increase in 2022 as well. Having said that, the syllabus for CAT 2022 remains the same.
Meanwhile, the CAT 2022 admit card was made available on October 27, 2022, at 5 PM. See the CAT 2022 latest changes below.
Latest Changes in CAT 2022
Candidates can go through the recent changes done in CAT 2022 examination to get a better understanding:
The CAT 2022 notification was released on July 30, a day before the actual date, which was July 31, 2022 (Sunday).
IIM Bangalore will administer the CAT examination this year. The Convenor of CAT 2022 is Prof. Ashis Mishra.
The registration fee for applicants who fall under the general/EWS/NC-OBC categories has gone up to INR 2,300. The amount has been raised from INR 1,100 to INR 1,150 for applicants who fall under SC/ST/PwD categories.
There are now only 150 CAT exam locations instead of 156.
Candidates will have to provide their Covid-19 vaccination details, including the dates for the first and second doses.
The CAT's eligibility requirements are unchanged from the previous year.
The exam pattern and syllabus for CAT 2022 also remains unchanged since last year.

On July 30 2022, IIM Bangalore announced the notification for CAT 2022. Given that the CAT exam date is November 27, 2022, MBA aspirants who were impatiently expecting the notification can now plan their preparation for the next four months. The IIMs, top B-schools, and more than 1,200 other MBA colleges in India accept CAT scores, making it the most popular entrance examination in India. It is a computer-based exam that is conducted on a rotational basis by any one of the IIMs. After a five-year hiatus, IIM Bangalore will once again host the CAT in 2022. The CAT exam primarily evaluates a candidate's capacity for reasoning, numerical aptitude, and verbal communication.

CAT Eligibility Criteria 2022
See the basic requirements for taking the CAT exam below. Only individuals who meet the following requirements will be eligible to take the CAT 2022 exam..
Received a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited university with the required percentage.
Candidates who are in their final year and awaiting their results can also apply.
Completed a professional degree with the qualifying percentage (CA, CS, ICWA, or Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI)).
For general, EWS, and NC-OBC applicants, the required percentage is a minimum of 50% overall, whereas for SC/ST/PwD applicants, it is a minimum of 45% overall.
CAT 2022 Exam Pattern Overview
There have been several changes in the CAT exam pattern over the years. Some of the major changes in the CAT exam pattern in recent years have been the reduction in the number of questions. The number of questions for the CAT exam was reduced from 100 to 76 in 2020, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of questions was further reduced for CAT 2021 to 66 questions.
The CAT exam duration of 2 hours has remained unchanged since 2014. For CAT 2022, the exam pattern and syllabus will remain the same and no major changes have been announced yet.
