Maharashtra BTech Admission 2024: Application Form 

The registration process for the MHT CET is done via online mode. The application portal for the Maharashtra BTech admissions 2024 can be expected to open from the First Week to the Third Week of March 2024. Candidates can follow the steps given below to fill out the MHT CET application form 2024. 

Step 1: Candidates must register for the MHT CET by providing personal, academic, educational, bank, and other information.  After completing the registration process, a password will be generated for future logins. Candidates may register using Aadhaar, in which case their information would be auto-fetched, or non-Aadhaar, in which case they would have to fill in their information.

Preparation of Merit List: The preparation of the Maharashtra Engineering admission 2024 merit list involves:

Assignment of Merit Number:All the eligible candidates who registered for the Common Admission Process (CAP) will be assigned a merit number by the admission authority. The merit number is issued based on the candidate’s performance in entrance exams such as MHT CET. In case of a tie, the merit issue of the candidate will be resolved as per the methodology specified below. The preference is given for

• Higher marks in Mathematics in MHT CET

• Higher marks in Physics in MHT CET

• A higher percentage of marks in qualifying or board exams

• A higher percentage of marks secured in Mathematics in Class 12 exams

• A higher percentage of marks secured in Physics in Class 12 exams

• Overall marks scored in HSC (higher marks will be given preference)

Change of Marks due to Verification: If the marks scored by candidates in the qualifying exam are changed after the re-verification or re-evaluation process, the admission authority will make changes in the merit number before the publication of the final merit list. However, it is the responsibility of the applicants to inform the competent authority if there are changes in marks of qualifying exams.

Maharashtra BTech Admissions 2024 Counselling Process

All the government and private engineering colleges across Maharashtra take part in the Centralized Admission Process for B Tech admissions. The B.Tech counselling process begins with the display of the merit list, and all the candidates who feature in the merit list can proceed with the counselling and seat allotment process.

Submission of Online Application Form for Maharashtra CAP - B Tech:

All aspiring candidates with a valid MHT CET score can fill out the online application form for B Tech admission in Maharashtra through the official website of DTE Maharashtra. If the candidates have a valid MHT CET, it is not necessary to register on the official website for counselling. The candidates can log in with the MHT CET login credentials to register for CAP.

Applicants with a valid JEE Main score must register on the official website and generate login credentials to submit the online application form for CAP.

Payment of CAP Fee or Counselling Fee: After the successful submission of the online application form, the candidates must pay the CAP fee or counselling fee. The counselling fee details for all categories can be checked below.

Candidates can also visit the Facilitation Centres to submit the online application form, upload relevant documents, and pay a counselling fee. It is mandatory to take the printout of the application form after counselling fee payment.

Online Document Verification

After submitting the online application form for Maharashtra CAP, the online document verification will be carried out. The candidates are not required to visit the Helpline Centre. 

Display of Provisional & Final Merit List

DTE Maharashtra will display the provisional merit list of the candidates on its official website. The merit list just gives information on the relative position of the candidate. Candidates on the merit list may or may not get admission, as the seat allocation process is completely based on the order of merit. The admission authority gives a merit number to the candidates. Candidates can raise objections on the provisional merit list (If any).

After sorting out issues, objections, and discrepancies in the provisional merit list, DTE Maharashtra will release the final merit list for B.Tech admissions. The seat allotment process follows next.

Documents Required For Engineering Admission in Maharashtra 2024

The applicants are required to carry the following documents required for engineering admission in Maharashtra 2024 (original and xerox) to Facilitation Centres-

• Transfer Certificate (TC)or School Leaving Certificate

• HSC or Class 12 Mark Sheet or Pass Certificate

• SSC or Class 12 Mark Sheet or Pass Certificate

• MHT CET Score Card or JEE Main Score Card/ Rank Card

• Domicile Certificate (If Necessary)

• Category Certificate (Only for Reserved Categories)

• Physical Disability Certificate (Only for PH Category)

• Income Certificate (Only for Students Applying under the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme)

Maharashtra BTech Admissions 2024: Seat Allotment 

For Maharashtra Engineering admission 2024, the seat allotment is done after the completion of the MHT CET Counselling 2024, and it takes place in three rounds. Given below is the detailed seat allotment process:

Filling and Confirmation of Online Option: After the release of the final merit list, all the eligible candidates will be allowed to fill online option form on the official website. DTE will release the list of colleges, B.Tech courses, and seats on the website, and the candidates are allowed to choose a maximum number of options to improve their chances of admission. The candidates can fill in a maximum of 300 choices. After choice filling, the candidates must confirm the option entry form. Once confirmed, the candidates cannot edit the same.

Display of Provisional Allotment and Final Allotment: Based on the preferences filled by the candidates, MHT CET merit/ Order, or Merit/ Previous Academic Record, the admission authority will release a provisional allotment list to give candidates an idea of their allotment. Within a couple of days, the admission authority will issue the final MHT CET seat allotment 2024, and the candidates who secure admission must report to the Reporting Centre to confirm the admission.

CAP Round I, Round II, and Round III: DTE Maharashtra conducts three rounds of CAP, and the process for all the rounds is the same as mentioned above.

Accepting or Rejecting the Allotment: If the candidates are allotted a seat in a college as per their first preference in the option entry form, they will have to report to the Reporting Centre and confirm the admission. These candidates are not allowed to take part in subsequent rounds of CAP.

On the other hand, if the candidates are not allotted seats as per their first preference, they will have a chance to accept or reject the allotment. If they wish to reject the allotment, they can choose to take part in subsequent rounds of the admission process.

Reporting to Institute: After confirming the admission through RC, the candidates must report to the respective engineering college with all the required documents. The college will upload the admission details of the candidates on the server. The admission process is completed with the fee payment.
