Oberoi STEP or Oberoi Systematic Training and Education Programme is a three-year hospitality management job training programme offered by Oberoi Group of Hotels at Oberoi Centre for Learning and Development (OCLD) along with a correspondence Bachelor's Degree in Tourism Studies from IGNOU. Candidates who want to apply for admission in this program need to fill the Oberoi STEP application form released by the OCLD (Oberoi Centre for Learning and Development). The application fee is not required while applying for the programme. 

Shortlisted candidates are enrolled in the Bachelor of Tourism Studies offered by IGNOU. The candidates selected for the programme are given time and effort and also money throughout the course duration of Oberoi STEP. After the successful completion of the programme, candidates receive a degree of Bachelor of Tourism Studies from IGNOU. They are also given a proficiency certificate from the Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development. Oberoi STEP Eligibility Criteria 2022

Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before filling the application form for Oberoi STEP 2022. The eligibility criteria of Oberoi STEP is provided below.

• They must have passed 12th examination from any board recognized by the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), India.

• Candidates applying for Oberoi STEP should be above 18 and below 20 years of age, as of July 25th of the year of joining the Programme.

• Candidates must have scored at least 70% marks in English in Class 10th. In addition, an equivalent to CBSE is a B2 grade/ Grade point 7 or above. 

Oberoi STEP is a selection process that focuses on interviews and assessments. No written exam is conducted for this exam. The interview rounds are conducted for Kitchen operations, Food and beverage services, Housekeeping operations and Front Office operations.

It should be noted that all these eligibility criteria are generally considered for admission. But each of the courses has separate eligibility norms that the candidates have to be met before applying for the respective course.

Oberoi STEP Admission Process 2022

The entire admission process of Oberoi STEP 2022 goes in the following manner:

• In the first stage, candidates are required to fill out the application form of the Oberoi Step exam. The application procedure is explained above. The most important part that one should remember about the Oberoi Step 2022 application is that the application must be completed within the deadline. And no application fee is needed.
• In the next stage, candidates are required to appear in the interview rounds. These interview rounds are conducted to assess the candidate’s potential for the Oberoi Systematic Training and Education programme.
• Oberoi Centre for Learning and Development prepares a merit list to shortlist the candidates. Performance in the interview rounds is the chief parameter for the selection of the candidates. After preparing the merit list, candidates are sent the results of the Oberoi Step Exam 2022 through the registered mail id.
• Every year, The Oberoi STEP programme starts in the month of August. Throughout the process, candidates require to stay in touch with the center through the websites. All the information is regularly updated there.

Oberoi STEP Interview Round 2022

The Oberoi STEP interview has three rounds. Candidates can check the details for the three rounds for Oberoi STEP 2022 below:

Round 1:

In this round, candidates are divided into groups of 15-20 candidates each. All the groups will have to perform the activities and tasks provided to them. This round will test the communication skills and presentation skills of the candidates.

Round 2:

Candidates who have cleared the first round are shortlisted for the second round. Shortlisted candidates need to appear before a panel consisting of faculty members wherein a one-on-one meeting is held. In this round, candidates are evaluated based on the personality, behaviour and knowledge about hospitality. 

Round 3:

Those who clear Round 1 and Round 2 are called for the next interview round. Candidates are required to appear for another set of activities. The panel conducts the interview. It should be noted that the interview may be conducted on a different day as well as against Round 1 and Round 2. In this round, candidates are evaluated on the basis of their behaviour, skill set, knowledge and personality.
