Postgraduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PDGBA): Course Details, Fees, Admission Process

Three premier institutes, namely, the Indian Statistical Institute Kolkata (ISI), the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) and Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta), jointly offer a postgraduate diploma in Business Analytics. The applications to the programme are currently being invited by the admissions office.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Business Analytics programme is offered as well as taught differently by the three partnering institutes. In other words, all three institutes, contribute their experience and expertise in different areas of specialisations in the programme. As per the official website for the programme, ISI will be contributing their expertise in statistical and machine learning methodologies for analytics, while IIT Kharagpur will focus on the technological elements of business analytics and IIM Calcutta will train the students on the application of analytics theories in different areas.

PGDBA Important Dates 2020
Before applying for the programme, all aspirants must check the PGDBA important dates for 2020. Candidates will be required to adhere to the dates that have been defined by the institutes for the joint PGDBA admissions. PGDBA Eligibility Criteria 2020
The candidates who are interested in pursuing the postgraduate diploma programme in management will need to ensure that they meet the PGDBA eligibility criteria 2020. As per the eligibility criteria;
Candidates who hold a graduate or postgraduate degree with either 10+2+4, 10+2+5, 10+2+3+2, will be eligible for the programme.
Candidates will need to ensure that they have obtained an aggregate mark of 60% or a CGPA of 6.5 on a scale of 10 points, in the qualifying examination.
Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwD category will need to ensure that they have obtained a minimum aggregate score of 55% or 6.0 CGPA on a scale of 10 points.
Candidates who are currently in the process of finishing their qualifying degree or examination, are also eligible for the programme, however, they will need to furnish the required documents by 31st October 2020. These candidates will be offered admissions on a provisional basis.
PGDBA Application Process 2020
The candidates who are assured that they meet the eligibility criteria for the programme, they will be able to complete the PGDBA application process 2020. The application process for the Joint PGDBA programme by ISI, IIM Calcutta and IIT Kharagpur is as follows:
Visit the official website of PGDBA, i.e. www.isical.ac.in/~pgdba/index.html
Click on “How To Apply” tab, which will direct you to another page.
You are advised to go through the instructions that have been mentioned on the page before filling in the application form.
On the bottom of the page, you will need to checkmark the disclaimer in order to proceed to the next step of the admissions, which is the registration.
You will need to register for the programme before you can fill in the application form, following which you will need to note down the Registration Number.
After the registration has been completed, you will need to login to the website and fill in the details in the application form.
Upload all the documents, photographs, signature as per the guidelines that have been mentioned on the instructions page.
Pay the application fee via the given methods of payment, i.e. Debit/Credit or Netbanking.
After successful payment of the application fee, you will be required to take a printout of the confirmation page of the payment.
Note:
Candidates are advised to keep the printout of the confirmation page along with the admit card for the entrance examination with them till the admission processes have been completed. Candidates should also mention the mobile phone number and email ID that they have access to, as all the necessary information regarding the admissions will be sent at those communication points.
While filling in the details in the application form, the candidates are advised to click on “Save and Continue” so that all the information has been saved before the final submission. This will allow the candidates to check the information entered by them. Candidates are advised to fill in the correct information during the completion of the application form, as no changes to the application form will be entertained later on.
Important Guidelines for Filling the PGDBA Application Form
Before filling in the application form, the candidates will be asked to follow a few important guidelines for filling the PGDBA application form. The guidelines have been outlined by the institutes with respect to the files that need to be uploaded on the website for the application form. The PGDBA application form guidelines are as follows:

Scanned Image of the candidate’s recent photograph, in JPEG or JPG format with an image size between 20kb to 60kb.
Scanned Image of the candidate’s signature in JPEG or JPG format with an image size between 10kb to 30kb.
Scanned Image of the required documents in JPEG, JPG or PDF format with a file size of 200kb.
PGDBA Application Fee 2020
At the end of the application process, the candidates will be required to pay the PGDBA application fee, respective to the student category the candidates belong to. Here is the breakdown of the application fee for admissions to the PGDBA admissions 2020.

Note:
All the candidates/applicants will be required to pay the requisite application fee, as per the guidelines mentioned by the admissions committee. It is important to note that if the candidates fail to pay the application fee, the application form submitted by them will not be considered for the PGDBA admissions 2020.
PGDBA Selection Process 2020
The candidates who have completed the application process for the PGDBA admissions 2020 will be able to go through the PGDBA selection process 2020. The selection process for PGDBA programme will be based on three different criteria, that have been outlined by the conducting institute. Here is the weightage that have been allotted for the marks attained in Classes 10 and 12. The final weightage to the criteria will be based on the final qualifying marks obtained at 10+2.

The admissions committee for the PGDBA programme will also consider the work experience that has been gained by the applicant prior to applying for the programme. Inevitably, the candidates with more work experience will be preferred for the programme. The work experience of the candidates will be calculated as on 31st January 2020. The institute will not consider the work experience gained through training, project works, or internships or work completed as part of the curriculum of the candidate. All the admissions to the programme will be based on the criteria and the weightage that have been mentioned above. The Joint Admissions Committee for the programme will release a merit list based on the scores that have been obtained by the candidates under all the categories. All the admissions to the programme will be based on the merit list that will be released on the stipulated time period.
PGDBA Course Fees 2020
The candidates who are interested to take admissions to the joint programme offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Kolkata, they will need to shed a programme fee of ₹24 Lakhs for the 2-year programme. The candidates will be asked to pay the tuition fee in 4 equal instalments, at the beginning of each semester.
The programme fee, which will be paid by the candidates at the beginning of each semester, the candidates, will cover the tuition fee, on-campus hostel fees, few books, laboratory charges, exam charges, along with other costs. However, the students will be asked to pay extra for the caution money, expenses related to food, lodging and travel which will be incurred by the students in the fourth semester as part of their industrial visits.
