How to Calculate XAT 2025 Marks?

Calculating your XAT score involves a few steps. For every correct answer, you earn one mark and for each incorrect one, there's a deduction of 0.25 marks. However, the General Knowledge section is an exception where no negative marking applies. Moreover, if you leave more than 8 questions unattempted, there’s an additional deduction of 0.10 marks for each question thereafter. Now, add up the marks you scored for every correct answer and subtract the marks for any incorrect responses and questions that you didn't attempt. This will give you your overall XAT score, which you can use to estimate your percentile score in the exam. To calculate your XAT score, use the following formula:

XAT Score = No. of Correct Answers - (No. of Incorrect Answers) * 0.25

How to Calculate XAT Percentile?

A percentile is a measure of your rank in the XAT exam compared to other candidates who took the exam at the same time. To calculate the XAT percentile, follow the process where your performance is compared to others. First, count the number of candidates who appeared in the exam. Then, rank the candidates based on their scores from highest to lowest. Identify the position (rank) of the candidate whose percentile needs to be calculated. The formula to calculate the percentile is:

XAT Percentile = Candidate’s XAT Rank/ Total Candidates x 100

How to Calculate XAT Percentile Based on Response Sheet?

The XAT percentile score can be calculated using the response sheet as well. The XAT response sheet informs you of the number of correct attempts you have made when used, along with the official answer key. Therefore, the first step when calculating the percentile based on the response sheet is to calculate the raw score using the marking scheme. Once the XAT raw score is calculated, you need to convert the same into the percentile score using the correct formula and process both of which have been mentioned here. It is important to note that the percentile derived using the response sheet may not be 100% accurate since changes in the answer key/response sheet can be made before the results are announced. That being said, you can use the predicted XAT percentile to select the best colleges for yourself ahead of the result declaration.
