DU LLB and LLM Eligibility Criteria 2023

The aspirants waiting for DU LLB and DU LLM admissions 2023 need to meet the eligibility criteria so that they can pursue any of these courses from the university. The University of Delhi accepts the application forms of only those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for its LLB and LLM courses. It cancels the application form of any student who fails to meet the conditions of admission set by the varsity. As DU LLB and LLM admission is conducted through the CUET PG 2023 exam, the eligibility criteria remain the same to appear for the exam. Check out the eligibility criteria given below:

To appear for the CUET PG 2023, candidates should be aware of the eligibility criteria prescribed by the NTA. The DU LLB and LLM eligibility criteria cover educational qualification, minimum qualifying marks and age limit. Check below the essential eligibility requirements:

  • Interested candidates should have passed their graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or institution recognized by Delhi University.
  • Students appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to appear in the DU LLB entrance exam. But, these candidates should have completed the educational qualification by the time of counselling.
  • There is no age limit to appear for the law entrance exam.
  • General/ EWS category candidates should have got 50% minimum marks, OBC/ CW/ PwD category needs to secure 45% and SC/ ST candidates should have passed with a 40% minimum mark.

The DU LL.B and LL.M admit cards will be available for download on the official website of NTA. Candidates can download the admit cards by using their login credentials. What topics are asked in the DU LL.B entrance exam?

What is the exam pattern of DU LL.M?

DU LL.M examination is conducted once a year in LAN-based CBT (Computer Based Test) mode in the English language. Multiple choice questions are asked in the examination and the duration of the exam is 2 hours. A total of 100 questions are asked in the entrance test and the maximum mark is 400. Candidates receive +4 for every correct answer and -1 for every wrong answer. 

How do students fill up the DU LL.B and LL.M application forms?

Candidates who want to apply online must set up a login ID and password. Once the login ID and password have been generated, the applicant must submit an online application on Delhi University's official website. A candidate must fill out an application form by providing personal and academic information, uploading the required paperwork, and paying the application fee. For unreserved/ OBC/ CW applicants, the DU LL.B application fee is Rs 750, while SC/ ST/ PwD/ EWS applicants must pay Rs 300.

What are the documents required for DU LL.B counselling?

For DU LL.B counselling, candidates need to be ready with certain documents such as Mark sheets of the degree exams, Degree certificate, DU LLB 2022 admit card, Eight (8) passport sizes, Age certificate, Printout of the original registration form of LLB course, SC/ST/OBC/EWS and PwD/CW certificate (If applicable), Character certificate and some other documents as specified by the university. 

What are the subjects taught to the DU LL.M candidates?

DU LL.M candidates need to study Comparative Constitution Law and Governance, Legal and Social Science Research Methods, Law and Justice in a Global World, Comparative Labour and Wage Law, Law of Women and Child Rights, Comparative Law of Marriage, Divorce and Civil Code, Administrative Law and Regulatory Mechanisms, Administrative Action and Judicial Review, Law of Corporate Finance and Securities Regulation, Insurance Law and Banking, Cyber and Information Technology Law, Law, Media, and Censorship, Environmental Law, Tax Policies and Tax Reform, etc.

What are the eligibility criteria required for the DU LL.B course?

Candidates who want to study LL.B at DU should have completed their graduation from a recognised university approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Students have to get passing marks in all the subjects of their undergraduate degree. The aggregate marks required to apply for DU LL.B are 50% for general category candidates, 45% for OBC candidates and 40% for SC and ST candidates. 5% relaxation is given to the candidates who belong to the CW category.

Who can join the DU LL.M programme?

To join the DU LL.M programme, candidates must complete their undergraduate law degree which includes LL.B or integrated law courses from a University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Bar Council of India (BCI) recognized university. General category candidates must have 50% marks and OBC/ SC/ ST category candidates should have 45% marks in order to fill up the DU LL.M application form. 

When will the DU LL.B entrance exam take place?

DU LL.B entrance exam will take place on October 19, 2022, in Slot 1 from 8 am to 10 am. The admit card was released on October 14, 2022. National Testing Agency, popularly known as NTA conducts the DU LLB Entrance Exam for admission to 3-year LLB courses offered at Campus Law Centre, Law Centre-I and Law Centre-II of Delhi University. The exam is conducted at the national level at more than 18 test cities across India.
