Eligibility Criteria for Law Admission through Class 12 Marks

Every law aspirant seeking admission to a law college that selects students on the basis of their class 12th marks must first check the eligibility criteria for the programme in which they wish to be enrolled. The colleges are quite strict with their admission policies and they reject the application forms of any student who does not qualify all the prerequisites for the particular course which he/ she has applied for. The basic eligibility criteria set by most of these universities have been listed below. However, students are advised to check if any university has a separate list of conditions for providing admission.

  • The student must have completed education up to the higher secondary level (class 12th) in the regular mode.
  • It is essential that the candidate clears class 12 from a school that is affiliated to a recognised central or state board of education.
  • The applicant must have received passing marks in the exams of all the subjects that he/ she has at the 10 + 2 level.
  • The aggregate score of the student must not be less than 45%.
  • Candidates belonging to the reserved categories are given certain relaxation in the aggregate overall score.

Selection Process for Law Admission through Class 12 Marks

  • The commencement of the selection process of each of these universities happens after the application process is over.
  • The eligible applicants are sent e-mails and text message alerts, notifying them the details of the further rounds.
  • Each university uses different methods of conducting the counselling process.
  • Once the students have registered themselves for the counselling process, they are allotted seats in the courses they have applied for after considering their class 12 marks.
  • Preference is given to candidates who have a higher aggregate score in class 12th.
  • As soon as all the seats are filled, the institute closes the process and gives students a few days' time to pay the admission fee and secure their admission.
  • A waiting list is also released once the first round of counselling is over.
  • If there are any vacant seats after the last date of admission fee submission, candidates from the waiting list are called for admission.

Braja Mohan Thakur Law College does offer LLB which is a three-year UG course. The admission process for 2024 is yet to start. If you are interested in Braja Mohan Thakur Law College admission to LLB then you need to fill out the online application form which will be released in April 2024 (tentative). You need to score 45% or more marks in graduation to be able to apply for the LLB programme at Braja Mohan Thakur Law College.
