Mody University is a private university that was established in 1998 in Sikar, Rajasthan and is aimed at providing quality education to female students with world-class techniques. It is acclaimed as the best women’s university in India and is facilitated by its proficient faculty, high-end infrastructure, comprehensive campus environment and promising placement opportunities. The university offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes in disciplines such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Management, Law, Fashion, Interior Design, Architecture, Physiotherapy, Agriculture etc. Mody University is recognised by UGC, AICTE and the Bar Council of India. 

The campus of Mody University is spread across 265 acres of land with interactive classrooms, large sports courts, natural beauty, places with spiritual essence and the entire site filled with artefacts. Mody University has 7 schools - School of Business, School of Design, School of Engineering and Technology, School of Etiquette and Finishing Skills, School of Law, School of Liberal Arts & Sciences and School of Pharmacy. The university claims to provide 100% placement assistance and also has international academic partnerships with colleges and universities. Students of the university can get scholarships if they meet the requirements. 

Mody University has received a lot of appreciation for its faculty, infrastructure and placement. Students have, however, said that the campus life is very strict and no extracurricular activities and fests are held at the university. Mody University has received various rankings for its different schools and it has been ranked 74th in the Top Universities in India (Overall) category in the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF) University Rankings 2023. Our Take:

After looking at the rankings and awards received by Mody University, it can be concluded that this is a great private university. Different schools under the university have featured in rankings and the courses offered by the School of Engineering and Technology and School of Business are duly approved by AICTE. Furthermore, the university has been awarded as the best women’s university, which gives it a positive edge. However, Mody University did not make it to the NIRF rankings, which means it still has to make significant improvements in its curriculum etc. 

Mody University Academia & Batch

The students at Mody University get to study UG, PG, PhD and other short-term courses in both full-time and part-time modes. There are a total of 7 schools at Mody University and the School of Etiquette and Finishing Skills (SEFS) offers 3-week, 6-month and 1-year programmes. SEFS also offers 120 hours of compulsory training to students from the 7 colleges of Mody University. The university has a good academic reputation with high-quality teaching staff.

Our Take:

The curriculum of Mody University has been claimed to be up to date and the teachers are extremely skilled. Foreign students are also enrolled in the university who are pursuing educational research. The course fee of Mody University is on the higher side as it is a private university but scholarships are available for eligible candidates. Students have the option of choosing from a variety of courses and the experienced teaching staff aim at providing quality education.

Mody University Infrastructure

The Mody University infrastructure proves the dedication of the institution to providing a holistic and enriching educational experience. The university has great infrastructure and beautiful interiors. The classrooms are well-furnished and are equipped with ACs and wifi connections are also available. The university provides transport services in and around the city. Mody University has eight hostels for girls and a well-equipped gym. It also has a big library with a variety of books, magazines, journals and articles. The campus has a large playground of 17 acres for the students and a cafeteria that serves healthy and hygienic food. There is a healthcare centre inside the campus with residential lady doctors and female nursing staff for the emergency purposes of teachers and students. The university has a well-furnished moot court for law students. 

Girls Hostel

Mody University provides eight well-equipped girls hostels and each has a capacity of 180 beds. The hostels provide all the modern facilities and amenities to its students. They have the option to choose to reside in a single or double-seater room with or without AC. The hostel is covered with CCTV cameras at various places for safety and security purposes.

Mody University has a world-class library with a capacity of 64,948 books and 13,545 eBooks along with National and International Journals and magazines. The library also has printed books, e-books, back volumes, and CDs/ DVDs.

Laboratories 

Mody University is well equipped with modern laboratories for computer, biotechnology, psychology, physics, robotics, etc. 

Fitness Centre 

The fitness centre at Mody University offers free membership to all full-time university students. The centre includes a variety of cardiovascular machines, free weights and strength training machines. It is open 24 hours daily to the public.

Sports Complex 

The university has a sports complex that includes cricket and football pitches, table tennis and badminton courts, and an outdoor volleyball court. Students also get to play hockey, basketball, chess, carrom, martial arts and yoga.

IT Infrastructure 

Mody University has an IT lab with a modern facility for research and learning. In addition, a computer lab has been provided in every university school. 

Auditorium 

Mody University has an auditorium with a seating capacity of 1040 people. The auditorium is equipped with a state-of-the-art audio-visual system by Bose and Christie (world-renowned names in the field of acoustics and cinema projection) for movie projection (22,000 Lumen), and cultural and educational programmes.

Bharat Muni Manch

The university has a Bharat Muni Manch situated near the Haridas Sabhagar on the first Avenue on Campus. This is an open stage and perfect for students to hone their skills in various art forms. The state-of-the-art sound and light system offers the best experience.

Tapovan

Tapovan is a meditation hall that can accommodate around 200 students at a time at Mody University where students can put their faith into practice. The central temple of Ramadarabara is designed in the shape of a lotus with the extension of a 'Yajna-Shala' and a serene 'Meditation Hall'.

Medical Centre/ Hospital

The Mody University campus has a healthcare centre which has a team of residential lady doctors and female nursing staff for the emergency purposes of students and teachers. Two ambulances are also available at the campus to transport students from the hostel to the clinic.

Transport Facility

Mody University has its own fleet of 5 buses that are available for the pick and drop of daily commuters and also for emergency situations of the residents.

Our Take:

Mody University has state-of-the-art facilities, tech-savvy classrooms, laboratories, a library, a cafeteria with healthy food, and clean hostels. The university has its own sports complex, gym, healthcare centre, etc. which benefit the students. However, the hostel fee is exorbitant for both AC and non-AC rooms. According to alumni, students can get PGs outside of the campus at a cheaper rate. 

Mody University Internships & Placements

Mody University provides its students with a wide range of internships and placement opportunities. The Career Development Centre (CDC) department organises many classes before placements by calling industry experts to train students in soft and technical skills. 

Internships

The students at Mody University get internship opportunities in their pre-final year/ final semesters in reputed companies. In 2022, the total number of internships offered was 167 and the highest stipend given to students was INR 1,00,000 per month. 

Placement

The CDC department of Mody University conducts activities like Training, Placement and Counselling. This department trains the students for Mody University Sikar Placements by conducting workshops, seminars, on-the-job training, on-campus training, remote internship, webinar and post-selection training. Mody University invites the organisations for their campus placement drive and coordinates with them throughout the placement process. The highest salary package offered to the students of Mody University in 2022 was INR 32.58 LPA.

After looking at the Mody University placement statistics, we can say that the placement record stands out in the Engineering department. Focus needs to be given to departments so that the average package increases in other departments. As per records, the total number of School of Engineering students placed in 2022 dropped by 2% as compared with 2021 and a rise of 104% in the total number of School of Business students placed was observed in 2022 when compared with 2021. The average package offered to MBA graduates is lower than the average course fee for MBA. Mody University needs to uplift the placements of other departments by taking necessary action.

Our Take:

Mody University needs to take measures to attract more students from outside of the state. Mody University was formed so that female students from Rajasthan get quality education, however, it's important to encourage candidates from outside of Rajasthan to take admission to improve student diversification at the university. 

Mody University Faculty/ College Administration & Management

Mody University has 200+ faculty members who are experienced in their respective fields. The university faculty plays an important role in the placement of students. The students appreciate the knowledge of the teachers, their skills, experience and the help they provide for the students to succeed. Mody University coursework not only equips the students with theoretical knowledge but also accentuates practical skills through hands-on projects and internships. According to the students, the faculty was focused on getting more placements and helping to develop an entrepreneurial mindset. Some students have complained that a few experienced departmental teachers quit the college and proper replacement was not organised by the administration.

Our Take:

Teachers at Mody University are very helpful and provide guidance in every aspect. However, the university needs to ensure that quality is maintained throughout all departments, especially in cases where teachers have to be replaced. 

Mody University Location

Mody University is located in Lakshmangarh (Sikar) in Rajasthan, India. The nearest railway station to the university is Sikar Junction Railway Station which is 25 km away. The nearest bus stop to the university is Modi College Gate Bus Stop which is 2.4 km away and the nearest airport is Jaipur International Airport at 155 km away. Candidates can take a bus or taxi to reach the campus.

The campus is far from town but transportation facilities are provided by Mody University for both Boarders as well as Daily Scholar Students. The university has its own fleet of 5 buses that are available for pick and drop and there are three vans available 24*7 within the campus. The transport moves within and even outside the campus whenever required. This facility is a must for the pick and drop of the daily comers. In case the boarders need to move out in an emergency, shuttle facilities are available for such situations.

Our Take:

Although the campus of Mody University is a bit far from the town, the college has its own transportation facilities that help students to commute easily. 

Mody University Expectation vs Reality - CollegeDekho Verdict

Mody University is one among the seven universities throughout India that are ABET-accredited. The university provides world-class facilities such as user-friendly and tech-savvy classrooms, a library, laboratories, a sports complex, a gymnasium, etc. All the classrooms, seminar halls and drawing halls are well furnished with furniture, blackboards, projection screens, OHPs/ LCD projectors and are ventilated with sufficient lighting.

Apart from the cutting-edge infrastructure, the university provides 100% placement assistance. Students also get internships in reputed organisations with good stipends. Mody University provides high-quality education but the course fee is expensive and may not be suitable for many students. The hostel fee is absurd due to which some students have to choose to rent the PGs outside. Additionally, experienced teachers need to be hired by the university for specific departments.
