New Changes to the CAT Exam Pattern 2024

  • Stable Test Format: The CAT exam pattern has not changed much, and year after year, the students know what to expect and are well-prepared for the type of questions.
  • Increase in Difficulty Level: The overall difficulty tends to rise year after year, so the candidates have to train themselves harder every time.
  • DILR Might Remain the Most Challenging: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning is still expected to be the most challenging section of the test.
  • Focus on Quantitative Ability: The Quantitative Ability section has grown increasingly tough, especially with algebra-based questions largely constituting the CAT 2023 question paper.
  • Tough Verbal Section: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension have remained challenging in all recent exams.

The non-RC questions consisted of two Para jumbles, two Para Summaries, two Misfits, and two Odd One Outs. There were a total of four TITA questions, none of which were in the reading comprehension sections. To achieve a 99th percentile score, 15-19 questions with high accuracy can be a good attempt.
