Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine & Surgery or B.A.M.S is an internationally acknowledged medical course offered across many universities and colleges in Uttar Pradesh. B.A.M.S is a 5 years and 6 month degree programme including 4 and 1/2 year of academic studies and 1-year of internship with practical exposure. Students interested in studying Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine & Surgery course are required to have studied Physics, Chemistry & Biology at the Class 12 level. Before 2019, entrance exams for B.A.M.S or Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine & Surgery were conducted on a national & state level. They included KLEU AIET, APEAMCET, Assam CEE, TS EAMCET etc. However, from 2017 onwards, students who have appeared for NEET 2019 are eligible to apply to BAMS colleges in Uttar Pradesh.
The UP BHMS & BAMS Admission 2019 will be based on 2019 NEET Scores. With NEET, B.A.M.S admission in top UG colleges in Uttar Pradesh has become streamlined. The B.A.M.S curriculum includes 3 professional courses.
In the first course, BAMS syllabus comprises of Anatomy, Physiology and history of Ayurvedic system. B.A.M.S second professional course includes Toxicology and Pharmacology and the final course includes Surgery, ENT, Skin, Obstetrics and Gynecology. Career prospects after Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine & Surgery are lucrative & promising. A BAMS course gives you the opportunity to work in the manufacturing and research field, as well as practice as a doctor in hospitals or become a BAMS practitioner. Teaching, Ayurvedic Pharmacist, Scientist, Therapist, Spa Specialist, Clinical Experts etc. are some of the job options available to B.A.M.S graduates.
