Overall: Overall, my time spent at Government Engineering College, Bhavnagar was very mixed bag; however, most times I loved being there. This college does not offer anything so easily; therefore, you must work hard to earn it. The academic environment is fair but would have been better if Its infrastructure was more improved but it’s still manageable if at all you are smart enough. What I liked best was the community spirit here. Because this college is not that huge, one gets to know many people and students feel really united amongst themselves. The teaching staff is friendly but in order for you to really benefit from them you need to be proactive. What you make out of all campus life is what it will be like with extra activities too available if you want really want them The placement scene needs improvement however if you really want to secure a good future for yourself then always take up internships do various competitions or even further your studies. All in all GEC Bhavnagar has been my home as far as academics and personal growth are concerned during these years. It taught me how important it is to live independently and use everything that you have at your disposal wisely. Although not idealistic per se, this place is genuine enough for me to appreciate its worth as an important part of my life.

Placement: Placements at Government Engineering College, Bhavnagar, are one of the hardest keywords for the students. Yet it is important to note that the college has a placement cell which connects students with job opportunities despite its limitations. Nevertheless, if compared with the premier engineering institutes, this college remains unknown and hence only few firms are allowed to visit for on-campus placements. This cell organizes pre-placement talks, training sessions and mock interviews meant to prepare students; however chances still remain few. Companies and Job Offers Companies that do visit the campus are usually small firms or local businesses, and job offers are often less specialized roles. Though there are some big companies coming for recruitment, they usually offer positions whose starting salaries vary between ₹2.5 to ₹4 lakh per annum. Core-engineering companies particularly in mechanical and civil engineering are hardly ever seen here while most jobs offered here are based in IT.

Infrastructure: All this would be okay if, in terms of facilities, there was something to brag about. Unfortunately, there isn’t really anything to sing about here either. The college has some major shortcomings when it comes to its infrastructure – especially given its status as a premier institution of higher learning in Gujarat. With respect to facilities like laboratories and classrooms where one would expect a better environment for learning, let us put it bluntly; they fail miserably! One thing that you quickly learn when you come to this college is that most students do not really care about these kinds of things. It does not seem like a big deal when you talk about it with people from here. There are more important things that they focus on such as getting good grades so that they can get jobs when they graduate or other social matters like dating or partying. However, those who live outside this bubble may have a different viewpoint because such concerns carry much weight in the outside world (at least within your country).

Faculty: Unfortunately, some students find this inaccessible and only get their information from the internet or classmates making outside group study sessions impossible. In addition, although not completely absent from personal contacts or even friendships with regular members of GEC faculty it is still a rare event for them to happen in real life situations where personal encounters are necessary. With all these different ratings depending on particular departments’ administrations or professors themselves within one place this leads us finally to acknowledge that individuals have no influence on individuals neither generally implemented policies by anybody whose disposition might breathe rules (e.g., cross-departmental biased attitudes). Overall: I take admission in 2020 during COVID I thought that it will be very boring and not so much useful in COVID, but I was wrong. College management and facilities are very kind, helpfull and knowledgeable. They give their 100% efforts so everyone can learn easily.

Placement: Each and every year placement ratio are growing. You can easily find last years placement ratio at college's official website. The highest package is upto 7 LPA and average package is around 3LPA. Placement cell facilities always try their maximum to Evey passing out students can get placement with good packages.

Infrastructure: In GEC Bvn there are individual building for every department. Classrooms and labs are so welled planned and clean. Faculties office or Toolroom are easy to locate. There are workshop for industrial training with most of the equipment.

Faculty: Every single faculties has done minium qualification of masters. They have very deep knowledge of their respective subject and field. Many faculties have their own publicans and patterns of their name.

Hostel: In one room there are 3 students can live very comfortable with their individual locker and beds. Daily basis cleaning and maintenance. Every washroom and lobbies and balcony are cleans. At Ground floor there is a canteen for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
