Nirmala College (NCR), Ranchi BSc : Fees, Courses, Eligibility & Admission 2024

Overall: Nirmala college is a public college which is affiliated to ranchi university which offers UG, PG, programmes in the fields of computer Application and IT, Sciences, Arts ,Management, and Design. The college is located in ranchi and was established in 1969 by Society of Sisters of Charity of Jesus and Mary. Given below are some of the latest developments at nirmala college. It is also known as women college also. It has also been accredited NAAC ‘A’ grade by UGC. Also, nirmala college has 7 academic departments spread across six divisions that offer over UG and PG, including BSc (honors), Bca , Mca , Msc., MBA, and Certification course. The notification for admission for the academic year will be released by the end of February month.

Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, nirmala college is one of the best colleges in the Ranchi. It is one of the few colleges in the University of Ranchi which has upgraded its classrooms to facilitate teaching through modern tools and techniques. The College has centrally air conditioned classrooms with Wi-Fi enabled LCD projectors, tutorial rooms, library, a state-of-the-art seminar room and a fully equipped auditorium with seating capacity of over 750 persons. The College takes pride in being a differently-abled friendly campus with new ramps, and special washrooms added to the building. Also, the College has various facilities to address the reading, hearing and understanding requirements of various students. The library is an empowering unit with a Resource Centre for Visually Challenged possessing an array of audio-visual aids to assist in the process of self actualization. The College is endowed with renovated hostels, medical support systems (along with physiotherapy centre), a huge parking facility (available to both students and faculty), and playground. A complete smoke and vehicle free zone, the College provides an eco-friendly environment to its students with the latest initiatives of solar heating, rainwater harvesting, paper recycling and other green initiatives. The College has taken measures to address the need for vigilance and security. The campus is CCTV-enabled to cater to the safety requirements of a well endowed and equipped campus receiving a huge footfall.

Faculty: Administrative Block ÷ To run, monitor and control the operations of colleges, an effective & efficient administrative block are developed for colleges. The Administrative Block of the colleges is a well-planned and spacious building that consists of offices of entire academic team, principal offices, account section with separate IQAC office. Classroom ÷ The classrooms are well-planned and spacious to facilitate long hours of teaching and interaction. Each classroom facilitates case discussions and group activities. All classrooms have network connectivity and are equipped with the latest. Smart Class ÷ Smart Classrooms are technology enhanced classrooms that foster opportunities for teaching and learning by integrating learning technology and allowing the Professor to teach using a wide variety of media. Smart classrooms are equipped with Computer, LCD Projector, Projector Screen, Speakers. Central Library ÷ The Central Library with collection of 2500 books. It is full flagged with good quality of high cost standard reference and text – books, reputed research journals, theses, project reports, audio/visual and electronic learning resources in all disciplines of technical education with automated book isuee/return system. It also contains the literature of social sciences and humanities. Sports ÷ Sports and games are essential to develop the students physically as well as mentally. It develop the students holistically. They enhance the personality of individuals by imparting various traits in them. IT boost alertness, disciple, team spirit, mental ability, confidence and concentration of a student.

Hostel: Rooms ÷ The Hostel has twenty seven (27) furnished rooms. The rooms are allotted on sharing basis among two residents. Cleaning is done on daily basis by the house keeping staff. The washrooms are separate from the rooms within the hostel. Mess ÷ The hostel has a separate mess where residents can take their meals. The mess is fully air-conditioned. It is managed by the residents under the supervision of the Warden and operated on cost basis. Wholesome meals are served to the residents in the mess. The menu is decided by the residents’ council. The mess is operated thrice a day – at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Common Room ÷ For the recreation of residents the hostel has a fully air-conditioned common room. News-papers and magazines are provided in the Common Room. Carom-board, Chess and Table Tennis facilities are also available to the residents in the Common Room. A large wall mounted LCD Television with a modest home theater is also in place. Garden ÷ There is a small garden within the hostel compound. Wi-Fi÷ Hostel residents are provided with Wi-Fi facility. User id and password are issued by the IT center of the College. Internet is available round the clock. Laundry Services ÷ The college has in-campus outsourced laundry services for the residents. The residents at their choice can avail the in-campus laundry services.

Overall: The college provides many workshops, exhibition and seminars which has increased our practical knowledge. The college also organises many cultural programs that gives the opportunity to participate and help overcome stage fear.

Placement: I had done my B.Sc. in zoology hons. And placement was not offered in our department. Its disappointing that college didn't provide any placement opportunities.

Infrastructure: Has well developed campus.And all the classrooms and laboratories are well-equipped. It comprises of auditorium, a seminar room, library etc. It also has food canteen and hostel block for students.

Faculty: Teachers are very supportive. They are very patient with the students and always encourages us to try. They motivate us to participate in other different activities. Regular lectures and good quality in teaching has improved the results.

Hostel: Hostel provide us good environment to study with disciplined rooms. They provide everything in time so that we don't have to worry about anything except studies.
