Overall: the campus life is a very amazing and beautiful as it is always conduct various type of events, sports culture program activities and the faculty is very supportive.
Placement: Placement options are not facilitated. Which seems dissapointed somehow. University must take initatives for placements so that students feel relaxed and work hard to get that.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the university is much sufficient to praise. Everything required technical as well as for practical purposes. University and its affiliated collegals have beautiful lawns, parks, big play grounds, nice road Connectivity and parking areas.
Faculty: Kashmir university has high experienced faculty with effective teaching techniques. Hence elbert Einstein quotes: i dont teach pipul i origide them conditions to learn, therefore faculty provides students favourable conditions to learn.
Hostel: Hostels are almost in every college of kashmir university like _islamia college of science and commerce. University have multiple hostel boarders which provides healthy food with sanitation. One thing i suggest is to minimize the hostel mess charges so that students comming from poor families may not feel burden.

Overall: University of Kashmir was the best time of my life. I started my master's degree in year 2020, during the COVID era. But my time there was the nicest, the best experience of my life. I loved every day that I spent there. Even during the degree, I developed a lot of contacts and even got my first byline there.
Placement: During my two years there, there were no placements, no job opportunities. Nobody came to us with any job or internship opportunities. There were no placements since it was the COVID era.
Infrastructure: During my time in University I always dealt with good Infrastructure, classrooms, or the equipments everything there is top notch and very conducive. I liked how the infrastructure was just that it is not disable friendly.
Faculty: My teacher and other faculty members were very helpful with me and always tried to help me whenever I needed one. They asked me to always be ready for challenges, gave me confidence not just to me, but in my work and conduction as well.
Hostel: I did not live in a hostel because my house was nearby. But from what I heard from others especially my classmates, boys hostel was fun but girls hostels has some complaints.
Overall: My Master's journey at the University of Kashmir in Journalism and Mass Communication was truly transformative. The faculty's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and real-world applications made the learning experience both enriching and relevant. The curriculum struck a perfect balance between theory and hands-on practice, equipping me with the skills necessary for a dynamic field. The campus provided a conducive environment for intellectual growth and collaboration. The vibrant atmosphere, coupled with state-of-the-art facilities, created a stimulating learning environment. Engaging in research projects and industry interactions further broadened my perspectives and deepened my understanding of the field. The University of Kashmir's emphasis on holistic education, combined with its picturesque location, made my time there memorable. The support from faculty, coupled with the diverse and talented cohort of students, created a sense of community that enhanced my overall educational experience. As I reflect on my Master's journey, I am grateful for the invaluable education and the lifelong connections fostered at the University of Kashmir.
Placement: While the University of Kashmir lacks a structured placement program, it provides an opportunity for self-driven career exploration. Graduates often engage in independent job searches, internships, and networking to kickstart their careers. While official placement support may be limited, the university encourages students to take initiative in navigating their professional paths.
Infrastructure: During my time in University I was always met with good Infrastructure, be it the classrooms, or the equipments there, everything was good and conducive.
Faculty: The faculty at the University of Kashmir stands out for its exceptional commitment to academic excellence. Throughout my Master's in Journalism and Mass Communication, I experienced a dedicated and knowledgeable team of educators who went beyond traditional teaching methods. Their passion for their respective fields, coupled with a student-centric approach, fostered a positive learning environment. Regular interactions, approachability, and personalized guidance further enhanced the educational experience. Overall, the University of Kashmir's faculty played a pivotal role in shaping my academic journey, ensuring a well-rounded and insightful education in journalism and mass communication.
Hostel: Since I lived nearby I did not go to hostel but I heard its fun in the hostel. But there have been complaints from there as well, about the hostel wardens, or about the quality of food there.
Overall: Let me tell you, the University of Kashmir is one of the most sought-after universities in Kashmir. I am not saying this only because of the good education it provides but also because of its location. Imagine living and studying amidst nature surrounded by the Himalayan landscape. It's amazing! I graduated from Kashmir University in 2022 with a degree in MA in Urdu. The university has exceptional faculty members who are PhD holders and experts in their domain. The placement rate of the university is also good. The highest package offered in 2022 was around 10 LPA.
Placement: I received a decent offer during the Kashmir University placement in 2022. I pursued MA in Urdu and wished to become a professor. I also began preparing for the NET exam n the last year of my course and cracked it. With the help of my knowledge of the subject and support from the University of Kashmir placement cell, I landed a job in a private college to teach Urdu. The average package offered to PG students during the 2022 placement drive was Rs 7 LPA. Some of my friends from other departments were placed in organisations like Infosys, TCS, HDFC Bank, Birla, Amul, Godrej, and HCL.
Infrastructure: I spent two years at the university and loved the campus environment. The university has different buildings for departments which are maintained quite well. There are libraries, labs, sports facilities and wifi connectivity. The scenic views and serene surrounding fills positivity and lifts the creativity of the students.
Faculty: There is a limited number of faculty for the Urdu department as the number of students is also less. My batch had only 50 students. So, there is actually no need for many professors. However, I am glad that I got a chance to learn Urdu from Dr Mansoor Ahmad Mir. He was one of the top faculty of our department. All the other teachers in our department were also experienced and helpful.
Hostel: My home town is located in the countryside of Kashmir so, I had to live in the hostel of the university. There are nine hostels for boys and girls on the campus. I lived in Sheikh ul Aalam Zakura boy's hostel in a twin-sharing room. The hostel had 60 rooms that can accommodate around 250 students at a time. I used to pay around 1,500 per month for the hostel and mess fees.
Overall: I graduated from University of Kashmir with an MA English degree. Being a literature enthusiast, I specifically choose Kashmir University because of its highly intellectual faculty and interesting course curriculum. The university has an anti ragging committee which ensures the campus remains ragging free. The seniors were very cooperative and helped me during my initial days
Placement: This is one area where I think the university can work better, especially for MA English students. Only a handful of students from our class got campus placement. The average package offered at the university is between Rs 2.5 - 3 LPA. Although the university has a placement cell, but it does not actively work to help students in getting placements.
Infrastructure: The cultural clubs regularly conduct stage plays, dance shows etc. at the fully air conditioned auditorium present at the campus. The university has a library with an adequate number of books, departmental laboratories, spacious canteen, green lawns etc. Kashmir University campus gave a homely vibe to me.
Faculty: Highly qualified and renowned faculty was the reason I studied in Kashmir University. Our faculty members followed a unique method of teaching. They used to conduct activities in the classrooms for better understanding. The perfect blend of practical and theoretical teachings made classes fun and fruitful. That is the reason why most of my class had more than 90% attendance.
Hostel: Being an outstation student, I resided in hostels for three years. I was allotted a double sharing room. My room partner and I never faced any problem. Our room was spacious, I had two almirah, one double bed and one study table. There was 24 hours electricity back. The mess at the hostel serves breakfast, lunch, evening snack and dinner. The mess had both veg and non-veg options for us.
Overall: Hi, I am Samiksha and I have completed my Ph.D. from the University of Kashmir and I was a student of the 2019 batch. If you ask me, it is a very good option for a master's degree as you will get all the necessary facilities here along with the good educational facilities. The best thing I liked about this university is that our study was not only limited to textbook theories but we were also introduced to practical research on some of the most crucial topics which enhanced my learning as a PhD student greatly.

Infrastructure: I haven't seen a library as old and as rich as the University of Kashmir. The university’s library dates back to 1948. The library is equipped with e-resources, web OPAC, manuscripts; which is really interesting; E-thesis, journals, and whatnot! Apart from this, the university also has various research centers which are oriented to applied research. Some of the best ones at which I did my research include the Bio-informatics Centre, the Centre for Capacity Building & Skill Development, the Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship, the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research & Innovations, and the Centre of Biodiversity & Plant Taxonomy
