Overall: A non-attending college can be a good option for students who prefer flexibility in their academic schedules. Typically, these colleges allow students to focus on self-study, part-time jobs, or preparation for competitive exams while fulfilling minimum attendance requirements. While the concept of a non-attending college sounds appealing, it often comes with its own set of challenges. Academic support may be limited, as students don't attend regular lectures or interact frequently with faculty. This can lead to a lack of conceptual clarity if the student isn't disciplined enough for self-study. Additionally, extracurricular activities, networking opportunities, and campus life may be minimal in such setups, affecting overall personality development. On the positive side, such colleges are beneficial for independent learners who can manage their studies without needing constant guidance. They often serve as an excellent choice for students aiming to balance academics with other priorities, such as internships or entrepreneurial ventures. However, before enrolling in a non-attending college, ensure that the institution is recognized by the appropriate education board and offers adequate support, such as quality study materials and online resources. While these colleges provide freedom, success largely depends on the student’s dedication and time management skills.
Placement: The college offers average placement opportunities, with a moderate percentage of students securing jobs each year. Most placements are in entry-level roles, primarily in sectors like sales, BPOs, and basic technical support, with a limited number of core industry jobs. The average package ranges between ₹2-4 LPA, which is decent for freshers but not highly competitive. The placement cell provides basic support, such as organizing job fairs and arranging interviews, but industry connections and corporate tie-ups need improvement. Students often need to rely on their own efforts or internships to secure better opportunities. Overall, placements are satisfactory but could be better.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is functional but average, offering basic facilities to meet student needs. Classrooms are adequately equipped but lack modern amenities like smart boards or advanced technology. The library provides a decent collection of books, though it could benefit from an expansion and digital resources. Laboratories are functional but may require updated equipment for advanced learning. Recreational facilities and sports infrastructure are present but limited in scope. The campus is clean and maintained, but it lacks aesthetic appeal and modern architecture. Overall, the infrastructure is serviceable but leaves room for significant improvements to enhance the student experience.
Faculty: The college has a good faculty team, with most professors being knowledgeable and approachable. They are dedicated to helping students understand the concepts and often go beyond the syllabus to provide practical insights. Many faculty members are well-qualified, holding advanced degrees in their respective fields, and have considerable teaching experience. While their teaching methods are effective, incorporating real-life examples and interactive sessions, the lack of modern teaching tools in some classrooms can be a drawback. Faculty members are generally supportive and encourage students to clarify doubts and participate in discussions. Overall, the faculty is a strong point of the college, contributing positively to the academic experience.
Hostel: The college does not provide hostel facilities, which can be a challenge for outstation students. This lack of on-campus accommodation requires students to look for private housing or PG options nearby. While this may offer more independence, it can also add to the financial burden and inconvenience of commuting. Students need to carefully evaluate the availability of affordable and safe lodging in the vicinity before opting for this college. The absence of a hostel also limits opportunities for campus life and bonding among peers, which are key aspects of the overall college experience.
