The Photographic Society is one of the oldest society of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi. In 1962 Roy studio a well known photo studio in Ranchi came to BIT Mesra with a proposal for a program for teaching photography to the students for some nominal fee. About 15 students enrolled in the program every sunday they used to go to Roy Studio in Ranchi & learn photography on a single mounted camera owned by the studio. These students formed a group called the Photography Club. In 1963 the club grew in numbers to more than 50 members, by the end of the year the members realized the need for an executive body thus the first president of Photography Club was elected whose name he could not recall. Since then the society is engaged in training of the students of the Institute who are interested in photography. Infrastructure: My college offers a well-rounded experience. Classrooms are well-maintained and stocked with supplies, there's plenty of parking for everyone, and the college prioritizes eco-friendly practices. To top it off, you can unwind with various indoor games available.
Hostel: Though the hostel does a daily clean from 11am to 2pm, the owners are understanding and will allow access if you ask. It's the perfect window to explore with your newfound hostel crew! Hostel life has been a significant growth experience for me.
