The Drona Foundation is a well-known Gujarati organisation that specialises in practical higher education. It was founded in 2015 with the goal of promoting and providing B.Voc (Bachelor of Vocation) degrees to young people. The organisation has successfully built 9+ B.Voc Hubs in conjunction with premier universities and institutes across Gujarat over the years. These hubs are linked to over 500 industrial partners, allowing them to offer specialised B.Voc degrees in a variety of sectors. Currently, the foundation serves 1350+ existing B.Voc students and 300+ B.Voc graduates.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced the programme on skills development oriented higher education, which awards Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc) degrees with multiple exit points like Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the NSQF.

The B.Voc programme primarily targets universities and colleges that offer undergraduate programmes that combine a thorough general education with specialised work tasks and their associated National Occupational Standards (NOSS). With the help of this integration, B.Voc graduates can actively contribute to the economic development of India by finding suitable work, starting their own business, and furthering essential knowledge.

Through a combination of classroom theory and practical training on real industry shop floors, the main goal is to speed up students' skill acquisition. Along with receiving a small stipend during the course's on-the-job training phase, participants are also able to earn money while they learn thanks to this novel "Earn while you Learn" approach.
