IIHM Vasai has laid down that applicants desiring to join any course need a Class 12 mark sheet, except for a few courses, for the purpose of seeking admission. To put it another way, except for a few diploma programmes, admission to almost all types of courses is given only after showing the Class 12th mark sheet of applicants. General category applicants, as well as reserved category applicants, require at least 40% marks in Class 12 exams.

Step 1: The candidate needs to visit the website of the Indian Institute of Hospitality and Management, Vasai. At the top of the homepage, there is an ‘online admission’ tab. Click on the tab and the applicant is redirected to the application form page. Those in need of any help or have any queries regarding admission can call on the numbers available near the online admission tab. The admission department would be clearing their doubts. After clicking on the admission tab, the candidate needs to fill out the application form.
Step 2: In the form, the applicant first needs to select the course for which they are applying. The different courses are B.A. in Culinary Arts, B.Sc in Hospitality Studies, Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Diploma in Hotel Operation, Cookery, Baking and Confectionary, Bar attending and Food and Beverage Service, B.Sc CS and B.Sc IT.
Step 3: After choosing one of the courses, then the applicant needs to fill up his/her family details such as their name as on their Class10 and Class12 mark sheet, name as in Hindi or Marathi (if it’s the same as on the marksheet just write the same), the candidate’s father’s name or husband’s name (for married woman only), Grandfather’s name and Mother’s name. Then they need to update their personal details such as marital status, mother tongue, birthplace, gender, blood group, religion, height and weight (optional) and date of birth.
Step 4: After filling up such details, the candidate needs to update their nationality, domicile state, if their status is an NRI or foreign national, aadhaar number, caste and if their caste certificate is available or not. After which the candidate needs to update their contact information such as their mobile number, parent's mobile number, email address, their correspondence address and permanent address along with the district, state, area, pin and others.
Step 5: After this, the applicant needs to enter their academic details, under qualification one details, the candidate must enter their Class 10 board details such as school name, board, and percentage. Under qualification two details, the candidate must enter their Class 12 board details such as institute name, board and percentage obtained. For the qualifications three details, the candidate must enter their UG degree details, if any. The same goes for the qualification four details where they need to enter their PG degree details. The qualification one and two details are mandatory whereas, for qualifications three and four, the fields can be left blank.
Step 6: The candidate needs to enter their guardian details such as name, relationship, occupation and annual income. The student must enter their parents' details first. The candidate needs to enter details about their participation in extracurricular activities if any. The candidate then should enter their name and the place where they have filled up this form. Finally, the candidates need to upload their mark sheet for the qualifying exam, their recent coloured photograph, their guardian signature and their signature.
Step 7: Finally, the candidate must write the counsellor's name which one can get by contacting the admission department or one can leave it empty.
Step 8: Click on submit button after doing human verification.
Step 9: After completing the application form, the candidate needs to go to the homepage and click on the ‘selection procedure’ button. The student will be redirected to the page. Click on the ‘start’ button. Then a form appears that asks for the student's name, email address, residential address and phone number. Enter all the details as per the details entered in the application form. Choose the course in which the student wants admission. Click on the ‘next’ button. The candidate must choose the correct options for the questions which appear on the screen. After answering 21 questions, a report will be generated based on the student’s performance in the test. The report will contain the course name, student name, date of exam, total marks, number of questions, correctly answered questions, incorrect answers, unattempted questions and total score.
Step 10: The candidate must get at least Class 10 marks on the test. After which, a counsellor will contact the student for scheduling a video call or for a telephonic short interview. After the completion of the interview, the candidate needs to ‘speed post’ their 10th and 12th certificate copies, seven passport-sized photographs and their medical fitness certificate issued by any doctor to the institute. The address for the same would be mentioned at the bottom of the report. One can also physically submit the documents.
Step 11: After this, the candidate needs to pay Rs 10,000 as the seat booking fees which can be paid through DD or a cheque. All this needs to be completed in a week’s time after taking the test.
Step 12: The candidate then needs to go to the institute, pay the full fees and complete the certificate verification procedure along with other admission formalities.
