The placement cell at the Institute of Management Studies is known as the Corporate Resource Center. It is tasked with training and counselling the students about their careers and professional goals. It is also an intermediary between the Institution and the industry wherein it facilitates placement opportunities for the students.
The CRC organises training and workshops and assists in need-based education so that the students receive the latest education as per industry standards. It helps identify the needs and demands of the corporate world and works accordingly to prepare students for the same. One of the main functions of the Corporate Resource Centre is to organize campus interviews and recruitment drives so that the students receive the best possible platforms to start their careers with.
Companies like Wipro, ICICI Bank, Cadbury, Godrej, Amul, Dabur India, and Airtel are some of the companies that have been recruited from the Institution over the years. The placement cell strives for a hundred per cent placement success for each and every student of the Institute and works hard to achieve its goals.
The Placement cell has numerous responsibilities, out of which collecting and maintaining placement data is one of its essential functions. In the year 2021, a total number of 205 students received placements in various companies. The highest package offered was INR 20 lakhs annually, and the average package was INR 9.50 lakhs annually. The total number of offers made was 263 among 212 students who had appeared for the interviews. More than 180 national and international companies had visited the campus for seeking eligible candidates.
In 2020, the highest salary package was INR 12 lakhs pa, and the average package was INR 9 lakhs pa. The students were placed in various sectors like banking, consulting, finance, manufacturing, Insurance, telecom, retail, etc.
The Placement cell at the Institute of Management Studies follows a general schedule each year for the final placement process. The placement interviews start around October each year. The students will have to sign a form before the interviews stating their willingness for participating in the placement drive. A student who receives an offer will not be eligible for further placement assistance from the Cell. Any student found to be under any disciplinary action punishment will not be eligible for placement assistance.
Before the final placement interviews, there are certain activities organised by the placement cell. Firstly, the organization or company will make a presentation providing and explaining their job description, eligibility, roles, salary, selection criteria and any other specific details regarding their company that the students wish to know. This interaction will give students a general idea of what to expect out of the final interview.
Another essential part of the training and placement process is the Summer Internship program which is an integral part of a degree in management.

Summer Internships are considered a significant part of a student’s academic life at the Institute of Management Studies. It is highly valued for its relevance in management education thereby making it an integral part of the curriculum. Summer Internships are placed between the first and the second year of the PGDM program, and students are placed in different companies and organisations for internships. The internship duration is about 8-10 months, and they need to work on specific assignments given to them. A summer internship is valued for the experience and education it provides students with. It allows them to implement the concepts taught in the classrooms in a practical environment. They also get to learn about the industry and experience a workplace. The internship requires them to submit a detailed report at the completion and a presentation on which their respective teachers will evaluate them.
