Overall: What is your review of Bachelor of Pharmacy? Student - Hi I am doing B. pharmacy.. Society- A chemist shop? Reality- So here is the scope of pharmacy B pharma is a tough subject but quite interesting especially the lab classes… Theory classes are always boring in every course.. because of shitty rote learning. Worst thing about pharmacy that makes it tough according to the new PCI rules in 2k17 are 50% of total marks to pass in exams 80% attendence in every subject.. Subjects in pharmacy are Inorganic chemistry Biochemistry Pharmaceutics Pharmacology Pharmacognosy Medical Microbiology Overall in 8 semester since its a 4 year course After B pharmacy if u Which is better MBBS or BPharm? Is B. Pharma better than B. Sc? What is your review of Pharmacy? What is the future of B.pharm students? What is the scope after B.Pharm completion? I can provide you the complete outlook of Bachelor of Pharmacy. However, I graduated in 2014 and then did my masters in 2016. So, the scenario for present graduates will be different. Before this, please refer to my answer on what is the syllabus of B. Pharm. [1]. The subjects and the syllabus is too vast that immense focus is required to clear the examinations. The time when I graduated, not much students were there in my batch (we had close to 60 people). It was even more worse in my previous batches and the sizes were as small as 11 in every batch. Many even dropped out, because they all felt that the syllabus was tough. It is very important that you choose your institution right. If you don’t do it, your career is ruined. The staffs at my institution were always open for discussion and interaction anytime of the day. They make the student understand the core of pharmacy and the subjects they teach. It is important that you get the right staff for the right subjects. As the curriculum involves enormous practical work, it is important that the staffs are not just knowledgeable but also skillful. If this doesn’t happen, although you learn your degree, you will thrive without right skills inside the industry. In 2015, the new batch members were never allowed to do in-vitro studies (Pharmacology) and instead they started performing on stimulated software. thankfully, we were lucky enough to learn all types of dose response curves and other drug screening methods in Bachelors itself (New regulations came into place in 2015). This practical exposure to animal surgeries/procedures gave me a very strong foundation for my post-graduation later (i did my third year in 2013). Projects - Again it is highly essential that you choose your guide and teammates right. When you go for a job, apart from common questions, the questions would surely come up regarding your project and the methodologies involved in it. I faced questions from pharmacology, my B. Pharm and my M. Pharm projects when I attended my first interview in 2016 after my masters. So, don’t neglect your project work. All my relatives laughed at my decision to join Pharmacy as they never even knew how it would be (Except a few who were medicos). As per their thoughts, it was only for opening a pharmacy shop. Most of them don’t know that Pharmacists are present in all pharmaceutical companies re-imagining and reinventing medicine. Rightfully, their core curriculum at Bachelors give a strong foothold for this.
