Overall: I completed MA English from Netaji Subhash Open University (NSOU) in 2022. The university has study centres all over West Bengal. During my two years of postgraduation, I got study materials from a regional centre located in my vicinity. The USP of the university is its minimal fee. My annual fees was Rs 7600. The regional centres have friendly faculty members who are helpful.
Placement: Since Netaji Subhash Open University offers distance courses the placements are not that good. Only handful of companies come to the university and hire students. The average package offered is Rs 2 LPA. I willingly decided not to sit for placements.
Infrastructure: The main campus of the university is located in Salt Lake City, Kolkata. I was astonished by the central library at the campus. It has a vast collection of books, journals, research papers etc. The campus is huge, any student can visit the campus during working hours.
Faculty: The faculty at regional and study centres are friendly. If I talk about my study centre, the faculty there were very supportive and helpful. They ensure students get study materials on time. Further, I can of any doubt you can reach out to them.
Hostel: Being an open university, NSOU does not have hostel facilities for students. However, there are numeous PG located near by the campus for accommodation.
ReportOverall: This is best open university for those who can't go to colleges but want complete their studies. This university have good faculties who have good knowledge of their subjects.
