About NIMAS
NIMAS was established 25 years ago in 1999. It is located in Barasat, Kolkata. The institute is recognised by UGC and the Ministry of Education. The institute is also affiliated with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). NIMAS is known for its efforts in the field of Information Technology, Management and Paramedical Studies.
In addition, it offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in various areas such as hotel management, management information technology, and information technology. NIMAS Kolkata, among other prestigious degrees and certificates, provides graduate programmes in business administration (BBA), hotel management (BHM), optometry (B.Optom), and computer application. NIMAS fee range between Rs 1 to 3 lakhs for the complete course. Besides offering education at an affordable cost, NIMAS also helps its students gain various attributes, such as technical, organizational, and administrative skills and good communication skills.
NIMAS Kolkata spans over 0.5 acres of land that is surrounded by lush greenery. Additionally, the college provides academic and facilities, such as spacious classrooms and high-speed wi-fi, as well as other facilities, such as a computer lab and a language lab, to name a few examples. Front Office Training Lab:
The front desk is an integral part of the Hotel Management curriculum due to the fact that it serves as the focal point for all of the important activities that take place in a hotels lobby. The front office lab, installed by the college is equipped with IDS Hotel Software and serves as the venue for student training and development.
Food & Beverage Restaurant:
A beautifully designed training restaurant that includes a well-planned bar counter, training pantry, bakery, and a separate dining hall is where students can learn their lessons through practical demonstrations illustrated by the expert teaching staff.
Food & Beverage Production Lab:
Food and Beverage Production Lab is a well-equipped and spacious facility with cutting-edge designs that allow students to gain practical experience while still in school. Students learn about housekeeping and other related services in the Food and Beverage Production Lab, which is a spacious facility with cutting-edge designs that allows them to gain practical experience while still in school.
Accommodation Lab:
As a result of the Housekeeping Department's model guest room, which was created with aesthetics in mind, students can receive hands-on training in the various aspects of hospitality management while still in the classroom.
Classrooms:
The large classrooms at NIMAS are beneficial to all students because they create a conducive learning environment that encourages the expression of novel ideas and points of view by all students.
Computing Facilities:
A total of over 50 computers in our computer laboratories are connected to the centralized servers, which each have 100 MBPS Ethernet Connectivity and, consequently, are connected to the rest of the world, through this network connection. An extremely secure network connection connects all of the buildings on the campus of NIMAS Kolkata.
Library:
A huge collection of books, reference materials, and journals enrich the college library. Our library collection includes annual reports, national and international periodicals, newsletters, and many more. Bibliographic services are also provided to all NIMAS students.
EDUSAT Training:
With the aid of VSAT Connectivity, students get to attend lectures and are able to interact with professors directly without being present on campus.
Hostel Facilities:
The campus of NIMAS has both boys' and girls' hostels. There are specific rules and regulations for both the hostels, violations of which may lead to severe punishment, even cancellation of hostellers. Each room of the hostel is furnished with modern furniture, viz., a cot, a study table, and chair, a wardrobe, and a 24-hour network connection with an internet facility.
Housekeeping Lab:
The housekeeping laboratory is fitted with the latest technology such as the dry and wet vacuum cleaner, washing machine, steam press, maid's trolley, and linen basket trolley. The department has a model guest room i.e. suite room or double room, as well as a twin room, where students are able to do their practice training. The Department also includes the housekeeping and laundry room. Lab.
Food Production Lab:
NIMAS Kolkata facilities include three huge Food Production Labs or kitchens. The kitchens are all designed so that each participant in an entire class is able to perform their own tasks. There is a Basic Training Kitchen, a Quantity Training Kitchen and an Advanced Training Kitchen and the Patisserie and Confectionery Lab and the Larder Kitchen. There is also a show kitchen, which can be used for demonstrations. Every kind of basic tool and equipment is on hand for students to see. It's equipped to include Audio Visual aids.
Computer Lab:
There are 30 computers with internet access and the required software in the large computer lab.
Language Lab:
Language and communication is an important aspects of education in the hospitality industry. NIMAS has the latest technology in the language laboratory. Students are taught using suitable software that can handle aptitude assessments, group discussions, and personal development, with a particular focus on accent, phonetics and speaking, listening, and presentation.
Sports Facilities:
The college has a large playing field for different sports such as football, cricket, and badminton. The college also offers indoor sports activities. In addition, there is an Annual Sports Day & frequent competitions are held every year, to provide an opportunity for students to show off their athletic skills before their friends and family.

NIMAS Scholarships
Every year NIMAS Kolkata is pleased to award a number of scholarships to deserving students who have demonstrated academic excellence. Academic achievement, financial need, leadership, community service, special talent, and a variety of other factors are considered when awarding NIMAS Kolkata scholarships. Each and every enrolled student is strongly encouraged to look into any and all scholarship opportunities that may become available in the future. In some cases, the college may award an academic scholarship to a deserving candidate who falls into one of the following categories.
NIMAS Kolkata Merit Scholarships
Students who come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds may be eligible for fee reductions from college administrations (subject to approval by the college administrations). The college also awards scholarships to deserving students based on their academic achievement as well as their demonstrated financial need. Merit and national scholarships are available from the federal and state governments to deserving students who have demonstrated academic excellence.
Courses Offered at NIMAS
NIMAS fees for UG and PG courses range from Rs 1,00,000 to Rs 3,00,000 for the complete course. Students can also claim scholarships to reduce the fees for the selected NIMAS course. Some popular courses offered at NIMAS are Bachelor of Hospital Management, Bachelor of Hotel Management, BBA, BCA, BSc, MSc, and BOpt. BSc is offered in four specialisations which are Medical Lab Technology, Cyber Security, Data Science, and Computer Science. Similarly, MSc at NIMAS is offered in three specialisations which are Dietetics & Nutrition, Clinical Psychology, and Medical Instrumentation & Critical Care Technology.

NIMAS Kolkata Application Process 2024
Students can fill out the NIMAS application form offline or online on the institute's official website. Students must keep their documents ready while filling out the form to avoid any manual errors as this might lead to application rejection while verification of the documents. In the case of the online application, if students have any doubts in a section, they can contact the Institute admission cell via call or email.
Every year, the admissions for UG and PG courses at the NIMAS begin in March. Candidates who are interested in a particular course can apply online.
- Admission for courses BBA and B.Sc is based on the marks of 12th standard boards.
- Admission for M.Sc course is based on the marks of bachelor's degree
Application Process for NIMAS
Walk-in Inquiries
Students or candidates who want to seek admission in any department can walk into the admission cell situated on the campus and collect the application form. The form can be submitted to the admission office and a nominal NIMAS Kolkata application fee of Rs 700 is to be paid while submitting the form which can be paid by credit/debit card, net banking, or through UPI as well. If the candidate is shortlisted, they will be reached out via phone or email by the admission team. The candidate will be given an acknowledgment receipt upon successful acceptance of the application form.
NIMAS Kolkata Online Application
Since the onset of the corona pandemic, most of the admission process is now online, and candidate can submit their application via the official website and pay the application fee of Rs 700 via net banking, through credit/debit cards, or even through UPI system as well. The list of needed documents should also be uploaded on the same site by the candidate. Once the application is sent the candidate would receive an acknowledgment through email and via SMS as well.
