NITTTR, Bhopal is situated on the picturesque Shamla Hills providing a panoramic view of the city. The area of the entire campus is 14.55 hectares.In addition to a well furnished library and a reading room, it has a Learning Resource Centre containing facilities for self learning. Library is equipped with following Items:Media Research and Development Centre (MRDC) provides facilities for the production of educational film/video, multimedia packages, screen-printing and audio visual aids etc. Video production unit uses state-of-the-art technology with specialised animation, and has audio, mobile shooting and post-production facilities.The computer centre has the facilities for developing soft ware, computer classroom and space for faculty and staff of the centre. A number of PCs are kept for common use by faculty as well as trainees of the institute.The Institute has an impressive auditorium, which has the capacity to accommodate 220 persons and is used for seminars and workshops and other functions. This auditorium is furnished with accessories and air-conditioning systems. This hostel is meant for teacher trainees sponsored by technical institutions for participating in short programmes. It accommodates about 100 persons in single seated rooms. A few rooms are provided with attached baths/toilets. These rooms are allotted to women participants and trainees bringing family along with them.A Post Graduate Trainee Hostel named after the great Engineer and Visionary Sir M. Visveswaraya was completed about ten years back and was inaugurated by then Honourable Minister of State for HRD, Government of India, on 7th January 1999. This hostel has the capacity to accommodate 50 participants. A Community Centre, Medical Centre and Maintenance block are also housed .The institute has well developed laboratories in Science and Technology Departments. These laboratories have equipment and apparatus which are of great educational and experimental value. Some of these are CAD Centre with compute softwares, CNC machines with robotic arm,Mechatronics Training Kits along with PLC Simulators, Electrical Machine Tutors, Electronics and Pneumatic Trainer, Microprocessors, Hydraulic Trainer, Training Kit, Material Testing, Soil Testing Equipment etc.These laboratories also have about 50 demonstration models and a large number of experimental set-up developed at the institute.The institute’s Work Centre is equipped with all necessary gadgets and machines for preparing instruction materials, audio-visual aids, models and experimental set-ups. This centre assists training and faculty in their project and developmental work. All the faculty, staff and officers have been provided with computers together with internet facilities and connected in LAN for sharing of data and file system to gradually progress towards a hi-tech IT .
