It is a premier institution in Wayanad under the direct control of Government of Kerala was established in the year 1981.Started in a rented building at Kalpetta. In the year 1983, the College moved to its permanent campus enclosed by a green and cool landscape at Vellaramkunnu 4 Kilometers away from Kalpetta through Mysore-Calicut Highway(NH 212). The entire landscape spanning around 11 hectares has been given by Neelikkandy Family in Memory of Neelikkandy Moidheen Sahib, a man with higher social commitment. The College is committed to serving the economically and socially marginalised sections of society and provides university education in a calm atmosphere for students, especially those belonging to Wayanad and nearby districts Admission is open to all, irrespective of caste and creed, and their rights of conscience are respected.
