The admission process at the School of Liberal Studies - Pandit Deen Dayal Petroleum University (SLS PDPU) usually begins in the month of May every year. The university offers undergraduate courses in Science, Humanities, Commerce and Business Administration and postgraduate programmes in Humanities and Science streams.

Candidates who hold a bachelor's degree will be considered eligible for M.A. at SLS - PDPU.
Applicants from any discipline can apply for the programme.
Students who have pursued a bachelor's degree from Science stream will be considered eligible for applying to the Master of Science course offered by SLS - PDPU.
Candidates must have completed their undergraduate degree from a recognised university.
It must be remembered that meeting the eligibility criteria for the course does not ensure the admission as the selection process involves entrance examination and interview round as well.
The selection process for postgraduate courses offered by SLS - PDPU comprises three steps. Candidates are marked out of 100 to prepare the merit list for final selection. The three steps involved in the selection process are:
Step 1
The first step is the written entrance examination.
It is also called Aptitude Test.
The duration of the Aptitude Test is 90 minutes.
Within the duration of 90 minutes, candidates are required to complete 100 questions which are Multiple Choice ones.
The total weightage of this round is 50 marks.
Questions related to Verbal Abilities, English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reading Comprehension, General Knowledge and Logical Reasoning are asked in the test.
Step 2
The second round is the Creative Essay round.
In this step, candidates have to write an essay in either Gujarati, English or Hindi language.
Examinees will be given 30 minutes to complete this round.
The candidates will be judged on the basis of the language, presentation, thought process and creativity.
The weightage of this round in the selection process is 25 Marks.
Step 3
Round 3 is the Personal Interview round.
The time duration of this round may vary from candidate to candidate.
Candidates will be judged on the basis of their communication skills, co-achievements in sports and co-curricular activities and their approach and attitude towards things.
