To talk about the history, in short, British government decide to provide basic level Military training to students. Beginning in the year 1925, University Training Corps (UTC) was established. But sadly its scope was limited. In 1940, the then Bombay University decided to introduce military training in syllabus at university level. Various colleges then started their training programs. Soon after Indian Independence, the National Cadets Crops came into existence.
NCC acts as a second line of defence. Hence corps are given rigorous training in various fields. They are drill, introduction to military services, weapon training, map reading, tactics, study of human body, hygiene and sanitation, civil defence, self-defence, Yoga exercises, etc. Corps get an opportunity to participate in a number of local, national and international level camps. This helps in built up of their development. Besides these, College also involve the NCC cadets in the various college functions, like tree plantation, blood donation camps, Independence Day celebration, Republic Day Celebration, NCC events and Annual Athletic meet.
