UEM Jaipur Launches Its Industrial Automation and Robotics Laboratory

Students, teachers, and researchers at the University of Engineering & Management Jaipur have set up an Industrial Automation and Robotics Laboratory at the university. The entire laboratory, the equipment, the components, and their interaction have been designed and developed by the students, teachers, and researchers of the university. They have not been purchased or procured from outside. This laboratory at UEM Jaipur will help the students attain detailed knowledge of industrial VFD operations applicable to raw material handling conveyor systems and boiler feed water flow systems. 

The newly integrated various motor feeder systems, like the star-delta starter, reverse forward starter, and DOL starter panel, to the SCADA system for remote motor operation applications in various processes like boiler feed water flow, gas flow in the burner, etc., have also been developed. In this laboratory, the institute provides hands-on training for the students on various feeder panels, VFD installation with conveyor systems, VFD programming (like ABB and Yaskawa), PLC programming, SCADA development and In-loop testing, FAT and SAT test for the system, etc. Also, it trains students on the electrical design of large processes and control panel system design on software platforms like AutoCAD, ETAP, EPLAN-Pro, etc.

UEM Jaipur Codesta Coding Club hosts Crack the Code and Code Battle Competitions in Techfest

The Codesta Coding Club of the University of Engineering & Management (UEM), Jaipur, in association with IIC and IQAC, recently organised two exciting coding competitions as part of the Techutopia 2023 tech fest. The events, named Crack the Code and Code Battle, aimed to provide students with a platform to hone their coding and debugging skills while having fun. The Crack the Code competition was focused on debugging, with the goal of making students comfortable with identifying and fixing errors in code. The event was held in the Central lab of the CSE Department and featured two rounds. 

In Round 1, all participants were given four questions to debug, while Round 2 was a coding round held on the Hackkerrank platform. The Code Battle competition, on the other hand, was a coding contest hosted on the Hackkerrank platform. Participants competed against each other and learned valuable problem-solving skills in the process. The event aimed to make participants apply their logical skills in solving real-time problems. The competitions were held on March 19 2023 and saw a strong turnout from interested students of all years. The presence of Prof. Dr Mrinal Kanti Sarkar, HOD CSE department, added to the excitement of the event and motivated the students to do their best. The students enjoyed the competitions thoroughly, and the organisers hope that they will continue to practice coding and exploring new ideas and solutions every day. The winners were congratulated, and the organisers thanked all the students for their involvement in the competitions, thereby making them a grand success.

UEM Jaipur’s Web-A-Thon - An Event For Portfolio Creation

UEM Jaipur's ACM student chapter organized the Web-A-Thon on March 18, 2023. This event was organized for the objective to motivate students in creating their own portfolio websites that aimed at enabling them to showcase their skills and creativity as well as designing their curriculum vitae. According to the organizing committee, having a digital portfolio website in today's digital age is crucial to stand out and companies also value digital assets. 

During the event, Biswanath Mukherjee, a 1st-year CSE student, won first prize; Subham Kumar Singh, a 3rd-year CSE student, won second prize; and Kshitij Verma, a 3rd-year CSE-AIML student, won third prize. The event was a success with students showcasing their innovative ideas and thoughts while creating their portfolio websites.

The student coordinators for the event were Sahitya Roy (3rd year), Priya Chandak (3rd year), Amar Sansil (3rd year), Rohit Chakraborty (2nd year), and Aman Kumar (2nd year), while the faculty coordinators were Prof. Sagarika Ghosh and Prof. Dipta Mukherjee.

UEM Jaipur organizes the Robo Soccer - AvFootball Between Robots

On March 19, 2023, the students of the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Department at the University of Engineering and Management (UEM) in Jaipur, India, organised a Robo Soccer event. The purpose of the event was to help students develop skills in designing, building, and modifying wireless Bluetooth-controlled robots, as well as learning how to code in embedded C.

The Robo Soccer event was open to multiple teams from various departments within UEM Jaipur, with each team consisting of five students. The event provided an opportunity for students to showcase their skills and knowledge in robotics, programming, and teamwork.

The event was successfully coordinated by faculty members Prof. Souvik Saha and Prof. Surajit Sur, along with student coordinators Tarun Verma, Akash Dutta Banik, and Adarsh Kumar Choudhary. The organisers, participants, and faculty members involved in the event are appreciated for their efforts in making the Robo Soccer event a success.

International Women’s Day Celebration at UEM Jaipur

UEM Jaipur celebrated the spirit of women around the world. Their contribution toward society, their achievements and their invincible attitude. The university remembered the fighter spirit of women to achieve equality and honoured the women who have fought and continue to fight for gender equality, human rights, and social justice. 

On this day UEM Jaipur also acknowledged the struggles women still face in society such as gender discrimination, violence, and unequal opportunities. The university pledged to work together to create a world where every female has the right to live with dignity, respect, and equality. Students and faculty members participated in the event through various activities and pledged to a sustainable future.

UEM Jaipur organised the 2nd International Conference

UEM Jaipur conducted the 2nd International Conference in collaboration with AARHUS University, Denmark from November 25-26, 2022. The conference topic was Intelligent Energy Management in Smart Cities (ICIEMSC 2022).

The first day was the inaugural session that started with a speech from Prof. Dr. Biswajoy Chatterjee (Vice Chancellor, University of Engineering & Management, Jaipur) and was later overtaken by Dr. Jacob Dethan (Professor & Head, Department of Electrical Engineering, Universitas Buddhi Dharma, Indonesia), Dr. P.Sanjeevikumar (Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IT and Cybernetic, University of South-Eastern Norway, Porsgrunn, Norway), Dr. Farshid Pahlevani (Associate Professor, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia), and Dr. Mamdouh EL Haj Assad (Sustainable & Renewable Energy Engineering Department, College of Engineering, University of Sharjah).

The second conference began with a speech from Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sharma (Registrar, University of Engineering & Management, Jaipur). It was followed by Dr. Satya Nand Singh (Professor (Assistant) and HOS of School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Fiji National University, Fiji), Mr. Terry L. Rodgers (Vice President and National Leader, Commissioning and Building Analytics, JLL, North Carolina, US), Dr. Ramesh Bansal (Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Sharjah), Dr. Bhanu Pratap Soni (Lecturer, Department of Electrical Engineering, School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Fiji National University, Fiji), and Dr. Clodualdo Aranas (Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of New Brunswick).

All the distinguished guests spoke about the state-of-the-art technologies utilized in various fields/domains such as renewable energy, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, as well as their applications.

On-campus Digital Adda - Decoding Data Analytics and Cloud Careers was held at UEM Jaipur in association with NASSCOM Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. of India. IIT Kanpur Highest Package 2024-25: Highlights of Placements, Top Recruiters - IIT Kanpur Placements 2024 for Phase 1 has been concluded. As per the latest media reports for the IIT Kanpur placements 2024-25, a total of 579 offers were given as campus placements in which 13 students received international job offers from top recruiters like Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Databricks, Google, American Express, SLB, and Deutsche Bank. 523 students got placements in a combination of Pre-Placements Offers and Campus placements. IIT Kanpur Highest Package 2024-25 is 37 LPA and the average package offered is 8 LPA. The complete report for the IIT Kanpur placements is yet to be released by the placement committee. 

As per the placement reports of 2023-24 average package of IIT Kanpur stands at INR 26.27 LPA. As per the official reports, 576 B.Tech students have been successfully placed via IIT Kanpur Placements 2024. The average package for B.Tech CSE is INR 52.80 LPA with a placement percentage rate of 95.90%. Some of the top recruiters of IIT Kanpur include Reliance, Goldman Sachs, Texas Instruments, ICICI Bank, Samsung, Qualcomm, etc. According to the IIT Kanpur NIRF 2024 report, 688 B.Tech students have been placed with a median salary of INR 23 LPA.
