Candidates must have completed the HSC or 10th examination from the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, securing a minimum aggregate of 35% in English, Math, and Science, with at least 30% in each subject. For first-semester engineering diploma courses (excluding mining and drilling), the minimum age is 14 years, with no upper age limit.
For admission to the Post Diploma in Industrial Safety, candidates must possess a B.Tech, BE, B.Sc (Physics, Chemistry, Math), or a Diploma, with a minimum age of 16 years and no upper age restrictions.
For the Third Semester (Lateral Entry) Diploma in Engineering/Technology, candidates should have completed 10+2 or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Math from the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha, or passed the 10th grade with at least 35% from BSE Odisha. The minimum age is 14 years, with no upper limit.
As per the reservation policy, and government directives, seats are reserved for Odisha state candidates as follows: SC - 15%, ST - 23%, Children of Green Card Holders - 5%, Children/Wards of Ex-Servicemen - 2%, Physically Challenged - 3%, Women candidates in co-ed polytechnics - 30%, Sports candidates - 0.5%, and NCC Certificate holders - 1%.
