The project is a part of the two-month summer internship programme. The students designed an ergonomic & battery-powered clip-on called VGO. VGO can convert a normal wheelchair into a safe electric three-wheeler with its powerful VLDC motor. This easy-to-attach-and-detach clip-on has geo-fencing & real-time GPS tracking and is water resistant. This wheelchair is ergonomically designed with a smart LFP battery and is small enough to fit into shopping malls, airports, metros, and other public transportation systems.
It is also said that VGO will become one of the most significant inventions in the category of motorised wheelchairs once it is launched. It will improve both utility and mobility as it is fully electric and can be charged at dedicated docking stations. Furthermore, it focuses on environmental responsibility.
